North Augusta, South Carolina – Nike has taken over the small South Carolina town of North Augusta. Some of the premier players in the country are competing for the overall EYBL championship. Here is how things played out on Day 2 of Peach Jam.

12:30 PM 15u Maine United (ME) vs. Expressions Elite (MA)

Cooper Flagg vs. AJ Dybantsa. From the second the Peach Jam schedules came out, this matchup was one I circled, and the game went down to the wire with Main United pulling it out in the end.

On3 called Cooper Flagg the top prospect in high school basketball last week. The 6-foot-8 class of 2025 forward showcased the full arsenal, but what really popped was his defensive instincts. He is an elite shot blocker with natural timing both on and off the ball. He is also good in the passing lanes and really gets things going, cutting angles with his length.

Offensively, nothing is rushed. He knocked down three 3-pointers and finished 6 of 7 from the free-throw line. He is explosively athletic and can create off the bounce in the half and the full-court. Flagg finished with 29-points, 12-rebounds, and 8-blocked shots here. It was a statement performance.

It is easy to see why Dybantsa has the reputation he does. His frame pops immediately, but throughout the course of the game, you see his ability to handle, shoot, and pass. The 6-foot-7 forward finished with 20-points and had the look of a high major, national type prospect.

2:00 PM 16u Team United (NC) vs. Pro Skills (TX)

This was my first live viewing of Pro Skills’ Jalen Shelley in over a year. The 6-foot-7 forward has expanded his game in that time frame as well. Ranked No. 21 in On3’s 2024 class rankings, the bouncy lefty finished 4-for-5 from three with 24-points in this one.

Team United walked away with a 12-point win behind 20 points from 6-foot-5 Jaxon Prunty. On3’s No. 13 ranked player Cam Scott finished with 12-points, scoring at each level, he also added three assists. 2024 No. 33 Jarin Stevenson had 9-points and 7-rebounds on 4-for-8 shooting from the field.

3:30 PM 16u NY Rens (NY) vs. PSA Cardinals (NY)

This game gave us all exactly what we wanted, a lot of grit and fire. It was obvious from the opening tip that both New York-based teams had this game circled on their schedules.

End of the day, the most dominating player on the floor was 2024 No. 6 Yves Missi, however, the best player may have been 2024 No. 19 Dylan Harper. Harper, the son of former NBAer Ron Harper, displayed elite-level feel for the game. His pace and his reads were consistent throughout the game and his toughness extended possessions for the Rens team. The 6-foot-5 guard finished with 14-points, 9-rebounds, and 5-assists, he was 8-of-11 fro the free-throw line.

Missi was a force within 10-feet of the basket. Playing with determination, explosion, and length. Every shot that went up, he affected it. Every rebound that came off, the 6-foot-10 Missi got a hand on it. PSA Cardinals’ center finished with 20-points and 17-rebounds.

6:30 17u Albany City Rocks (NY) vs. The Family (MI)

Coming into this one all eyes were on five-star Simeon Wilcher. Ranked No. 15 in the 2023 On3 Consensus, the UNC commitment did not let down any onlookers as he played both efficiently and dynamically.

The 6-foot-4 guard was locked in from the start, creating offense and getting deflections and stops. Wilcher knocked down jump shots, got into the mid-range, and took care of the ball leading his Albancy City Rocks team to a win. He finished with a game-high 28-points on 10-of-12 shooting from the field.

8:00 PM 17u Team Durant (DC) vs. JL3 (TX)

Team Durant features five-star KJ Evans. The On3 Consensus No. 4 ranked player had his finger prints on every part of this game. The 6-foot-10 lefty used his wingsoan for deflections and blocks and his size to clean up the boards. It was a well rounded stat line with 9-points and 11-rebounds with a handful of blocks and steals.

But the matchup that caught my eye coming into the game was JL3 four-star Zayden High and Team Durant three-star Amani Hansberry. Hansberry is a walking double-double, with long arms and huge hands. He can score over both shoulders or square up and create from 18-feet. He had 23-points and 15-rebounds, including the game-winner.

High is an upside big man who runs and moves like a wing. He is a late-bloomer having grown five or size inches over the last couple years. He has a smooth shooting stroke and he competed here. While not a finished product, monitor the continued growth over the next couple years. High finished with a team high 13-points and 8-rebounds.
