No one understands what the Super Bowl stage is like more so than Tom Brady. However, now that the sure-fire Hall of Famer has retired from the NFL, he is learning in real time what it’s like to again partake in Super Bowl Sunday from home.

Brady shared a comical GIF on Twitter ahead of Super Bowl LVII. For the first time since he became a pro, he’s watching the NFL’s biggest game as a fan and, as such, isn’t exactly sure ‘what to do with (his) hands’.

The chunk of Brady’s career was built on success in the regular season but, overall, it’s exalted for what he did in this specific event. In 10 Super Bowl appearances, he won seven titles, the most in league history. He also holds Super Bowl records for MVPs, passing yards, pass completions, pass attempts, and touchdowns.

Still, with his retirement official, Brady will have to get used to watching this game rather than competing in it. It’s going to feel strange tonight but, over time, he should be able to get used to it with his phenomenal career over and done with.

Brady opens up on decision to retire from NFL

Tom Brady made it short and sweet when he decided to retire from the NFL for good.

The future Hall of Famer has a broadcasting gig with FOX on deck. However, Brady said he won’t begin until the 2024 season.

On Monday, Brady joined The Herd with Colin Cowherd and opened up on his decision to retire from the NFL in more detail.

“I put it out on the field for 23 years and I’m super proud of you know, what’s been accomplished. I just wanted to keep last week really short and sweet. And I felt like I’ve given a lot, I’ve gained a lot, I’ve learned a lot. Life is about exciting things ahead, too. So I think when one thing closes like football has for me for 32 years of my life and you know, I look forward to what’s ahead.

“There’s new chapters and there’s new exciting things and there’s new growth, there’s new opportunities, and I’m really excited for what’s ahead. I loved my time in football. An incredible love in my life, and it’s hard to make decisions like that, but it’s certainly the right time.”

“I think the finality of it was just last week,” Brady said. “So you always kind of think the future is very hard to predict for all of us. I mean, nothing’s really guaranteed. But I think you just take it day by day. And as my friend always tells me the future happens a day at a time. But I’m super excited. I really am. I think there’s a lot of great things ahead. And I think you need to create space for those things too. When one thing ends, naturally other opportunities present themselves.

“I don’t try to make predictions and sometimes I’m really good with certainty. And I think in this case, I’m good with a little bit of uncertainty even though I have some great opportunities in my professional life ahead. I’m really excited about those things. You know, at the same time, you got to create space for those things as well.”
