4-star CB Havon Finney commits to LSU Tigers

Los Angeles Sierra Canyon four-star cornerback Havon Finney has committed to LSU, he announced on Monday.
He chose the Tigers over USC, Michigan, Oregon and others. Finney previously reclassified up to the 2026 cycle from the class of 2027.
Finney is the No. 55 overall prospect and No. 7 CB in the 2026 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He’s also the No. 9 player in California.
The 6-foot-2, 170-pounder made his way to Baton Rouge for multiple spring visits as LSU snatched the momentum in his recruitment. He now joins a top-notch recruiting class that’s pushing to finish at No. 1 in the On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings.
“LSU I’d say them producing a lot of DBs,” Finney told On3’s Steve Wiltfong about his interest in the Tigers back in March. “The corners coach is really cool, Corey Raymond. He’s put a lot of dudes in the league. I’ve grown to know him and it’s been a cool experience.”

LSU adds another big piece to 2026 class
The addition of Finney gives LSU’s top-ranked 2026 class 10 total commits. He’s the fifth top-100 prospect to join the fold in Baton Rouge. Finney is also now the third defensive back in the class, joining New Orleans Edna Karr four-star safety Aiden Hall and Tuskegee (Ala.) Booker T Washington four-star safety Dylan Purter.
Hattiesburg (Miss.) five-star wide receiver Tristen Keys is the class jewel, ranking as the No. 3 overall prospect and top-ranked WR in the nation. He pledged last month, as did New Orleans Destrehan four-star WR Jabari Mack, the No. 10 WR in the cycle. The class also features blue-chip WRs in Bossier City (La.) Airline four-star Kenny Darby and New Orleans McDonogh 35 four-star Jakai Anderson.
“LSU has produced a lot of top receivers and I see them as WRU,” Keys previously told On3’s Chad Simmons.”
New Orleans Edna Karr five-star defensive lineman Richard Anderson is the top-ranked DL in the nation and has been in the fold since last June. Other commits include Gonzales (La.) East Ascension four-star offensive tackle Brysten Martinez, the No. 9 OT overall, and New Orleans Warren Easton three-star IOL Jalan Chapman.
Keys, Finney and Purter are the lone out-of-state commits in the LSU class to date.
