2025 LB Mantrez Walker reveals commitment date, top four schools

Buford (Ga.) linebacker Mantrez Walker holds 23 offers. Despite nearly two years until his signing day, the sophomore is ready to announce his commitment.
Walker will be revealing his college destination on Feb. 11. He is choosing between Florida, LSU, Michigan and Penn State.
“All have recruited me hard since my sophomore year started,” Walker told On3 about his finalists. “I have visited all except LSU and I like the coaches, the campuses and how each school is recruiting me.”
The 5-foot-11, 215-pound defender visited the Nittany Lions and Wolverines in January. Following those trips, he feels ready to make a decision.

Florida: “I was at Florida back in the summer and I had a great time. I love the vision coach (Billy) Napier has for the program. Coach Napier is the coach that can get Florida back to the top.”

LSU: “The culture really stands out to me at LSU. It is about family there and the coaches show that. I love the history at LSU and what they have going as a program.”
Michigan: “It was my dream school. I always watched Michigan. I know a lot about their history and they have been in heavy contact with me. My visit was amazing when I was there on Jan. 21. The people stood out a lot to me.”
Penn State: “The linebacker production at Penn State really stands out to me. They produce players at my position. I think they have the most linebackers ever drafted, so that is big. Then you have coach James Franklin, who is a great coach and his stability, he is going to be there for a while.”
