Micah Robinson is the No. 82 player in the 2024 On3 150. The 6-foot-6 small forward transferred to Mouth of Wilson (VA) Oak Hill Academy to play on the NIBC this season. At this weekend’s Bob Kirk Invitational, he finished with 7 points, 7 rebounds, 1 steal, and 1 block against highly ranked Montverde Academy.

“My shooting has come along this season,” Robinson told On3. “I feel like I’ve always been able to shoot, but I’ve been able to showcase my ability to shoot this season. I am watching a lot of Paul George right now. He is a taller wing player who can create his own shot.”

The four-star played up with the Southern Assault program on the Adidas 3SSB 17u Circuit. On3 spoke with Micah Robinson after a recent live viewing to talk about visits and the overall state of his recruitment.

“With the way our travel is, I’m planning on doing my visits after the season,” Robinson said. “I’m looking at LSU, for sure, Arkansas, and Kansas. I’ll probably also take one to Cal-Berkley and TCU. Some may be unofficial and officials, but that will be determined.”

Robinson talks recruitment

LSU: “I’ve had a relationship with Ronnie Hamilton for a while now. When he was at Ole Miss, he started recruiting me, and that just transitioned over when he came to LSU. I’ve also built a relationship with Cody Toppert, who has been in the league, where I’m trying to go. They reach out to me a lot, and they make me feel like they really want me to be a part of their program.”

Kansas: “It’s Kansas, one of the blue bloods. I could go there and be like one of the wings they have produced. That’s always been intriguing to me.”

TCU: “They’ve been on the up and coming in the last year. They were pre-season top 15 and just got back in the top 25. That is the type of program I can go, that is at home – with me being from Dallas – and not have to go far and do what I have to do.”

California: “They’re new on the list; I just started talking with them a couple of months ago. He’s just been preaching to me that he sees me as a player who can come in and help get the program back to where it was in the past. He talks to me about being a Jaylen Brown type of player, and they are a good academic school.”

Arkansas: “They are on the up and coming. Their NBA play-style, that’s always intriguing. Coach (Eric) Musselman always sends me stuff about what NBA Draft Analysts say about them and their guys. I hear a lot from them. I could go there and be like one of the wings they produce.”

Arkansas and Virginia are two schools who haven’t offered; I hear a good deal from,” Robinson said.

In Micah’s words

“I want to go somewhere that feels like home,” Micah Robinson said. “A place where I will go and fit in with their system. Go somewhere where I can go and be able to do what I need to do, but also where that will help the team win.

“I like to run, so I want to play in a fast-paced system. But also one where they run some sets and let their players make plays. I want to play on the wing, but if I’m needed to play in a small ball lineup or play five out.”
