It was a busy 2025 call day for Mikey Wilkins. The 6-foot-8 power forward is averaging 13.5 points on 54.3 percent shooting from the field with the Team United program on Nike’s EYBL 16u Circuit. Wilkins also recently announced he would be transferring to Arden (NC) Christ School this upcoming season.

“I’m a point forward who can pass it, shoot it, and get it to teammates,” Wilkins told On3. “My conditioning has gotten a lot better this summer, and I’m shooting it a lot better too. I watch a lot of Anthony Davis, really his size with his skill set.”

At the NCISAA Live Evaluation Period event this weekend, Wilkins played in front of dozens of college coaches. On3 caught up with Mikey Wilkins after a recent live viewing to talk about his recruitment.

Wilkins talks recruitment

“My most recent offers came from LSU, South Carolina, and Texas A&M,” Wilkins said. “I haven’t been on any campuses yet, and we haven’t really started discussing that yet.”(*editor’s note, since this interview, Wilkins has added offers from Iowa, Virginia Tech, and Georgetown)

South Carolina: “They had GG Jackson this past year. I mean, they struggled a little bit, but I like their coaching staff there. They like my skill set. They think I fit the type of player they’re trying to get there with my IQ and versatility.”

LSU: “I didn’t really get to watch much of them this year, so I’m still learning about their program. A lot of our talks have been about how they play and the players they’ve coached. They say they’re going to give me the freedom to play my game there.”

Texas A&M: “They have a good coaching staff there, Coach Buzz (Williams). They had offered me back before last season, so we’ve been building a good relationship with each other since then.”

“I’ve heard a lot from Wake Forest, Cincinnati, and Virginia, too, so we’ll see what they do,” Wilkins said.

In his words

“I want to go to a school, play for a coach that is just going to let me play my game,” Wilkins said. “I don’t want to be stuck down in the post, I’m a point forward who can shoot it some. I’d like to have the ball in my hands some. I can play in a lot of different styles, but I think Virginia plays a perfect play style. The ball moves around, and they play as a team.”
