Huntersville (N.C.) Lake Norman Charter guard Mikey Williams is one of the most prominent high school basketball players in recent memory. He boasts more than 3 million Instagram followers, and his highlight videos are splayed across YouTube. Very few of his moves are a surprise anymore given how much attention is paid to him.

But the No. 17 overall player in the 2023 Top 50 rankings added to his highlight tape Friday night with a huge dunk. The 6-foot-1 Williams catches a pass on the wing, shot fakes, and then blows past his defender, As he rises up, another defender jumps to block him but Williams throws down a tomahawk dunk on top of him.

It’s a sight many have seen in Williams’ highlight videos, but his impressive vertical leap as a 6’1 guard is a sight to behold.

More than a year remains until Mikey Williams can sign with a college, but he’s already entertaining offers from the sport’s biggest programs, as well as professional leagues. At one time considered the top player in his class, Williams has dropped in recent months to borderline five-star status. He rose to fame as a freshman in 2019 when he scored 77 points in a single game, including nine 3-pointers. That followed games of 50 and 41 points to start his high school career.
