New Haven, Connecticut – Every year the National Prep Showcase kickstarts the basketball season, for me at least. There are events that take place beforehand, but this long-standing staple of the Northeast is the one that really gets things rolling.

This year the field ran three days, from November 17-19. Wolfeboro (NH) Brewster Academy, Putnam (CT) Science Academy, and South Kent (CT) Academy were among the 14 teams that played at Albertus Magnus College on Friday.

With NBA teams and college coaches sitting courtside, here are the top performers from Day 1 of the National Prep Showcase.

Full Schedule and List of Teams

On3 MVP: Four-Star PF Niko Bundalo (2025)

While I have seen some productive outings from Niko Bundalo, this might be the best I have seen him play.

Bundalo jumped up 20 or so spots in the most recent 2025 On3 150 update. The climb was based on his upside as a player. He has great size and is a fluid athlete, who is capable of handling, shooting, and passing in the half-court. In previous settings, he played a perimeter-based game. Playing away from the basket oftentimes led to stretches of non-production.

This game was quite the opposite. Everything that Bundalo did was toward the basket. He cut well off the ball and finished above the rim. Bundalo also showed a few post-ups and some keen passing off the block. This was an intriguing viewing of Bundalo. He can still face up and create offense, but his ability to truly score at multiple levels opens up new pieces to his game.

2. Three-Star F Jinup Dobuol

Jinup Dobuol looks the part stepping on the floor. He has great length and a fluidly athletic frame. It took him a while to get going in this one, but when he got it rolling, it was an impressive arsenal.

At one point in the second half, Dobuol rang off nine straight makes – not points but makes – from every level. His shooting stroke is lower, which does take away some of his height on his shot, but the release is consistent and the range does extend well beyond the three-point arc. He is a good athlete, both twitchy and explosive. He could use to continue tightening the handle, and developing some counters, but that could come with continued reps.

Dobuol finished with 27 points on 11-of-18 from the field.

3. Three-Star SF Jayden Harris

Jayden Harris has added to his game, and buzz has been created over the last month or so. Harris, a lefty, is listed as a 6-foot-7 wing. Where he made his mark in this one is with his jump shot. He got to his jump shot multiple ways, off movement, stepping into it, etc.

With his jump shot falling, he was able to play off that in the half-court. He will need to continue adding strength, but he got downhill in straight lines, attacking sloppy closeouts and drawing contact. Harris finished the game 4-of-6 from three. He has an interesting game. He is the brother of former UNC signee Anthony Harris.

His recruitment is somewhat slow at this point, St. Bonaventure, Hampton, Loyola (MD), and Bryant are recruiting him the hardest. He finished with 30 points and six rebounds in this one.

4. Three-Star SG Daniil Glazkov

Daniil Glazkov entered the 2024 On3 150 at No. 124 during the last update. His feel for the game is impressive, he is never rushed and is a threat to attack a defense with the handle, shot, or the pass.

Glazkov has a great frame, broad shoulders, and with length. While he battled foul trouble a lot of the night, what stood out about his game was the processing. His reads and execution of passes were impressive throughout the night. He had multiple passes off a live dribble that hit the open player across the court. Glazkov played with great balance and knocked down shots at multiple levels with a consistent release.

His game is efficient and his skill translates, along with his size and frame. He finished night one of the National Prep Showcase with 15 points and a handful of assists.

5. Four-Star SG Joson Sanon (2025)

Joson Sanon came into the National Prep Showcase with a top-20 number beside his name. In his lone game of the weekend, he got a nice head-to-head matchup with 2025 On3 150 No. 32 Niko Bundalo and came away with the win.

Sanon showed his smooth shooting ability. He is very smooth getting into his shot off the bounce. Playing within two and three dribbles, he attacked his spots on the elbow – going both ways – and rose up with balance and a consistent release. Off the catch, the shot was a little different. He short-armed a couple, leaving them short or off. The touch is there, and the jump shot is his weapon, he will need to continue smoothing things out off the catch.

Athletically, Sanon is there. He was a very useful team defender in this one. He guarded the ball on the perimeter and he caused trouble in the passing lanes. Sanon also rebounded his position well. Nothing was forced with him and the ball did not stick in his hands.

Sanon finished with 17 points and six rebounds in the win.

6. Three-Star PG Elijah Crawford (Stanford)

Elijah Crawford, a recent Stanford signee, came into this event in great shape. He has a compact and physical build that he shows on both ends of the floor.

Crawford is an aggressive, confident lead guard. He is a willing defender at the point of attack, and he is at his best getting to his mid-range jumper. Crawford gets good lift and he has a consistent release with good balance. He brings a consistently tough mindset to the game. Where he has developed here – other than his body – is with the pace and reigning things in.

In previous viewings, Crawford has remained in go-mode. Aggressively going downhill often. He picked and chose his spots here and it was a more aesthetic and comfortable game. He finished day one of the National Prep Showcase with eight points, five assists, and two steals in the win.

Other Standouts

Four-Star C Daniel Jacobsen (Purdue)Daniel Jacobsen has a lengthy frame and he is mobile. At 7-foot-1, that makes things interesting. He has good touch and is not afraid of contact. Jacobsen finished multiple shots in traffic, and he rolled hard to the rim showing good hands. He will need weight, but there is a lot there.

Four-Star SF Damarius Owens (Marquette)Damarius Owens is one who continues to take steps. Blessed as an explosive athlete, he has a nose for the ball. The jump shot will be the swing skill for him, it is still a bit mechanical, but it is smoothing itself out.

G Ruey Ruey (2026) – This was my first live viewing of Ruey Ruey, and it was an impressive one. While he will need to be more assertive, a class of 2026 playing post-grad basketball, he has natural tools that are hard to ignore. He had a few good reads, and a smooth looking pull up. Take note.

Four-Star SF Dwayne Aristode (2025) – This was my first live viewing of Dwayne Aristode and the frame immediately popped. He was strong with good length and a lot of explosive pop. The jump shot was not falling today, but the release looked clean. He was at his best attacking the rim. He has defensive upside and crashed the boards with a purpose at the National Prep Showcase. Very intriguing player with continued upside. He finished with 14 and 11.

Four-Star PF Royce Parham (Marquette)Royce Parham did a good job establishing himself around the basket. He affected the boards well and he defended. He did not get many looks to score, but he did some ability facing up and pushing the break.

Three-Star SF Justin Johnson (2024)Justin Johnson is an intriguing recall. He had high major stuff brewing as a 2023, but now that he is in 2024, that interest should only pick up. The explosive forward used his length on both ends., He knocked down a couple of shots and ran the floor very well. He finished with 21 points, going 3-of-5 from three.

G Ebuka Okorie (2025)Ebuka Okorie played confidently and he played aggressively. I liked this scoring chops, able to get to his spots off the bounce and rise up to shoot from multiple levels. He has good length and quick-twitch. One to watch, he is on an upward trajectory.

Three-Star F London Jemison (2025)London Jemison is an intriguing player because he has all the tools you look for. He has been a four a lot of his life and is transitioning to the wing. He has athletic fluidity with pop. Jemison will need to continue adding strength and getting game reps. There is an intriguing upside here.

Four-Star SF Tyler Betsey (Cincinnati)Tyler Betsey has developed his game off the bounce, especially as a two and three-dribble pull-up shooter. It was working in this game. So was his defense. He has multi-positional upside with his length and instincts. The three-ball was not falling here, and that is the aspect of his three-and-d game that makes him interesting as a prospect. The shots, while not falling, were taken on balance and good looks. He has hit them in the past. Regardless, he finished with 18 points and 5 rebounds in the win.

Three-Star SG Ty Virgil (2025)Ty Virgil is a scorer and a bucket-getter. That is what he does and what he looks to do. The lefty has a smooth release and is capable of stepping into a shot from 28 feet and in. He made a few nice reads in this one, there is something there, especially when asked to put points on the board.

Four-Star SG Nojus Indrusaitis (Iowa State) – It has always been the shooting with Nojus Indrusaitis, and it was here as well. He did not force things and took what was given to him. The form is clean and the release does not change no matter the level.

Three-Star SG Nate Guerengomba (UMass)Nate Guerengomba has a quirky game, but one that is very productive. He has a physical frame at 6-foot-2, and the ability to make plays with the ball in his hands. He had a productive 31 points.
