NCAA names officiating crew for Final Four matchups

Ahead of the Final Four on Saturday, the NCAA has revealed the group that will be officiating the marquee college basketball event.

The group below will be responsible for the NC StatePurdue and AlabamaUConn matchups on April 6. This 11-person team will be split up between the two games and was recommended by Chris Rastatter, the NCAA’s national coordinator of officiating.

“Collectively, this group of officials has done an outstanding job officiating the tournament,” said Rastatter, via press release. “Similar to how teams advance in the tournament with exceptional performances, these officials have been deemed the best amongst their peers and therefore advance to work on the biggest stage at the Final Four. Among the many officials who have performed well in the tournament the last two weeks, this group has stood out the most.”

Once the tournament wraps up, there will be 45 collective Final Fours between this group of officials. Green and Pettigrew are the only members of the crew heading into the game with no prior Final Four experience.

Final Four tip times for men’s NCAA basketball tournament announced

The Final Four times for the men’s NCAA basketball tournament have been announced, per CBS Sports insider Matt Norlander. NC State and Purdue will tip off the action at 6:09 p.m. ET on TBS, TNT and TruTV.

The Wolfpack made their way to the Final Four with a 76-64 victory over in-state rival Duke on Sunday. DJ Burns lead the way with 29 points (13-19 FG), four rebounds and three assists. DJ Horne also chipped in 20 points in the win, which marked the second straight victory against the Blue Devils after also winning in the conference tournament.

After that contest, Alabama will face defending national champion UConn in the nightcap at 8:49 p.m. ET. The Crimson Tide are making their first Final Four appearance in program history while the Huskies are making their seventh trip.
