Nebraska is trying to hold onto a commitment from Winter Garden (Fla.) Windermere four-star cornerback CJ Bronaugh. Florida State is trying to flip the 6-foot-1, 175-pounder.

Bronaugh visited the Seminoles in the spring. He’s back in Tallahassee this weekend for an official visit.

Upon arriving to the in-state ACC program on Friday, Bronaugh was greeted by FSU head coach Mike Norvell and others:

Bronaugh has gotten very familiar with the FSU staff throughout his recruitment. After visiting in March, it was Bronaugh that was visited by a slew of Seminole coaches at the end of April. Defensive coordinator Tony White, as well as DBs coaches Evan Cooper and Pat Surtain Sr. stopped by to see the DB.

The Noles aren’t the only team charging for Bronaugh. Two weekends ago he logged an official visit to Florida as the Gators also look to keep the blue-chipper home. He returned to Lincoln last weekend as Matt Rhule and the Huskers attempted to reaffirm Bronaugh’s pledge. Next weekend, he’ll head to Penn State for an OV.

“Yeah, everything still stands firm with Nebraska,” Bronaugh told Husker Online after his latest trip to Lincoln. “They just keep it real with the coaches, the players, the culture, and everything they have there.”

“Florida State has done a good job recruiting me and always talking to me, I don’t know where FSU would stand, but they are up there,” He told Warchant in March.

The speedy corner is the No. 106 overall prospect and No. 14 CB in the 2026 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He’s also the No. 12 player in Florida.

Florida State has already acquired quite the defensive back haul in 2026. Vero Beach (Fla.) four-star athlete Efrem White, Homestead (Fla.) Northwestern four-star safety Tedarius Hughes, Miami Barbara Goleman four-star safety Darryl Bell, Tampa Plant four-star ATH Darryon Williams and Severn (Md.) Archbishop Spalding three-star CB Sean Johnson are all committed to the Noles.

FSU currently has the nation’s No. 18 class, per the On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings. Bronaugh, one of just five pledges in Nebraska’s No. 63 class nationally, would be the highest-ranked member of the Seminoles’ class.

Scout’s Take on CJ Bronaugh

Upon making a big jump in the On300 rankings earlier this year, Bronaugh earned high praise from On3 Director of Scouting and Rankings Charles Power:

“CJ Bronaugh is one of the fastest prospects in the cycle,” Power wrote. “I think he would contend as the fastest prospect we’ve seen to this point in the cycle, at least among blue-chip types. State champion in the 100 and 200-meters and has already ran a 10.3 time in the 100-meters as a junior. In addition to the high-end speed, he played really well as a junior, came down with six interceptions and looks to have solid size. You look at his elite athleticism, combined with the ball skills, those are attributes we value at the corner position.”
