Newsstand: Notre Dame RB Jeremiyah Love makes big jump in On3 Heisman Poll
In a huge win for Notre Dame over USC, star Notre Dame running back Jeremiyah Love had 24 carries for 228 rushing yards and a touchdown while also catching five passes for 37 receiving yards.
On the Monday following that performance, Love made his debut in the weekly On3 College Football Heisman Poll at No. 10.
Each week, On3 polls its top national analysts and experts for their take on the race for the Heisman. Voting is done by Andy Staples, Ari Wasserman, Chris Low, Brett McMurphy, Pete Nakos, J.D. PicKell, and Charles Power.
He wasn’t included in the poll the following week while receiving votes, but in the next two weeks — on Nov. 3 and Nov. 10 — Love made the cut at No. 9 and No. 7, respectively.
Notre Dame crushed Pittsburgh 37-15 on Saturday afternoon, and Love had a Heisman-type moment with a 56-yard touchdown run that included an impressive spin move. College GameDay was in town for the contest.

And on Monday, he jumped all the way up to No. 3. Ohio State quarterback Julian Sayin and Indiana quarterback Fernando Mendoza are ahead of him.
Following Love on the list are Texas A&M quarterback Marcel Reed, Vanderbilt quarterback Diego Pavia, Alabama quarterback Ty Simpson, Ohio State wide receiver Jeremiah Smith, Georgia Tech quarterback Haynes King, Georgia quarterback Gunner Stockton and Oregon quarterback Dante Moore, in that order. King and Smith are tied for seventh.

Quote of the day
“If he makes this trip, I would love to see him. This game’s bigger — I know we’re evaluated on wins and losses, but for me and my position, it’s about people. It’s about helping young people ultimately have success on and off the field. Steve is a guy who gave everything he’s gotten to this place when he was here. Like I told him when he decided to leave, that the relationship between a coach and a player doesn’t stop once you’re gone. I’m always supporting him.
“I was so happy when I found out he was named starter and watching him do some successful things. I reached out to him when he got hurt. I would love to see him and just hug him, just because you care about him. I hope he’s able to make the trip.”
