NFL suspends Randy Gregory, Oday Aboushi after postgame incident
The NFL has announced suspensions for the Denver Broncos edge rusher Randy Gregory and the Los Angeles Rams offensive lineman Oday Aboushi.
After the Rams finished blowing out the Broncos, Gregory and Aboushi got into an altercation. During that altercation, the two appeared to exchange heated words with one another before striking one another.
Each player has been suspended by the NFL for one game, according to Ian Rapoport, for punching each other. You can view the incident, here:
Both Denver and Los Angeles have had to deal with disappointing seasons this year. The Broncos fell to 4-11 on the loss, while the defending Super Bowl champions moved to just 5-10. Clearly, frustration with how the season has gone got to both of them.
This is Randy Gregory’s first season in Denver. He signed a five-year and $70 million contract with them after establishing himself with the Dallas Cowboys. He only has two sacks on the season.
For his part, Oday Aboushi has been a journeyman offensive lineman, playing for eight different teams since 2013.
NFL owner facing a lawsuit
Dan Snyder, owner of the Washington Commanders, is facing a lawsuit from the HOGS. That is former Washington players Joe Jacoby, Mark May, John Riggins, Fred Dean and Doc Walker are suing Synder.
“Dan Snyder and the Washington Commanders are trying to profit off the original HOGS legacy by taking that trademark and associated goodwill and brand equity of the original HOGS. The Commanders are using the original HOGS brand for commercial purposes with NO compensation to the men (whose) blood and sweat equity built the original HOGS brand 40 years ago,” the statement read.
“The former members of the original HOGS reclaimed their rightful ownership of the Hogs and expect to receive federal trademark in early 2023. The newly created Washington Commanders are a different franchise with a completely different team name that we believe has no legal claim to the original HOGS legacy and brand created 40 years ago.”
