The top quarterback in the 2026 recruiting class has received an onslaught of visiting college football coaches throughout the month of January.

Most recently, that meant a visit from a six-time Super Bowl champion head coach. North Carolina head coach Bill Belichick visited Nashville Christian five-star quarterback Jared Curtis on Monday.

Curtis had high praise for Belichick when he was hired by UNC in early December.

“Arguably the greatest coach of all time. Definitely want to get up there and meet him,” Curtis told On3 at the time.

UNC was not named in Curtis’ top six earlier this month — a list that consisted of Oregon, Georgia, Alabama, South Carolina, Auburn and Ohio State. He was previously committed to Georgia but decommitted from the ‘Dawgs in October.

The 6-foot-3.5, 225-pound Curtis currently has official visits scheduled for Oregon (June 6-8), Georgia (June 13-15) and South Carolina (June 20-22).

This fall, Curtis was named the 2024 Gatorade Tennessee Football Player of the Year. The junior gunslinger led the Eagles to a 13-1 record and a state title in the fall. Across 14 games, he threw for 2,830 yards and 40 touchdowns while also rushing for 637 yards and an additional 18 scores.

Curtis is the nation’s No. 4 overall prospect in the 2026 cycle according to the On3 Industry Ranking — a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is the No. 1 QB in the class and the top-ranked recruit from the state of Tennessee.
