St. Louis (Mo.) Christian Brothers College four-star wide receiver Jeremiah McClellan committed to Ohio State back in August. But that hasn’t slowed down other teams’ pursuit of him, especially fellow finalists Missouri and Oregon.

The Ducks are playing host to No. 19 Colorado this weekend in a massive Pac-12 showdown, and McClellan tells On3’s Chad Simmons that he will be on campus in Eugene to watch the matchup.

“They’re still talking to me, and I’m still looking at them,” he told Simmons.

Over the summer, McClellan took official visits to Missouri (May 29), LSU (June 2), Ohio State (June 9) and Oregon (June 23). He was also scheduled to return to Eugene at the end of July, but opted to visit Missouri instead. A few weeks later, he committed to the Buckeyes.

But the No. 82 overall recruit in the On3 Industry Ranking hasn’t fully shut things down, and prior to his commitment, Oregon was one of the main contenders among his top group.

“The staff and the people at Oregon make them stand out,” he told On3’s Chad Simmons this summer. “All of the coaches recruit me hard from Oregon. Coach Adams, Coach Lanning and so many others have gotten to know me and made me feel important.”

McClellan is off to a hot start this fall

The 5-foot-11, 190-pound McClellan ranks as the No. 15 wide receiver and the No. 4 recruit in the state of Missouri. On3 is slightly higher on him than other recruiting services, tabbing him as the nation’s No. 12 wideout.

That’s in part due to a monstrous start to his senior season. In the most recent On300 rankings, McClellan was one of the nation’s biggest stock-risers.

So far this fall, McClellan has totaled more than 900 yards from scrimmage and nine TDs for the Cadets, leading them to a 3-1 start.

“Jeremiah McClellan is a player that On3 had the benefit of seeing light the football field on fire during the summer,” On3 Scouting and Rankings assistant Cody Bellaire said this week. “McClellan was unstoppable during the OT7 7-on-7 Finals and has stacked some dominant film as a senior upon that summer performance. He continues to prove his versatility as an offensive weapon. McClellan can win in the slot with his twitch and change of direction and he can win on the outside with his route running and ability to push the field vertically. He’s also a menace with the football making defenders whiff tackles in open space and is a physical runner. McClellan is proving he can be a threat to defenses no matter where he lines up.”
