According to Nick Harris, now of DallasCowboys.com, former Texas A&M and Ole Miss wide receiver Chris Marshall has enrolled at Kilgore Junior College. Marshall has been in some trouble throughout his time in college football but will get a fresh start at Kilgore.

“Former five-star WR Chris Marshall has enrolled at Kilgore Junior College in East Texas,” Harris said via Twitter. “Marshall, who has been removed from both Texas A&M and Ole Miss in just two semesters, gets his JUCO chance. Hoping an elite talent gets it turned around.”

Marshall began his college career at Texas A&M before entering the NCAA transfer portal. He chose to play for head coach Lane Kiffin, being a huge coup. However, Kiffin suddenly dismissed Marshall from the program in early May following spring practice.

“Chris Marshall has been dismissed from the Ole Miss football program for violation of team rules,” Kiffin said in a statement. “We wish him good luck in his future plans.”

Before his dismissal, Marshall was getting along well with his Ole Miss teammates. Kiffin had reworked the wide receiver room and most of the work was done through the portal. Marshall was expected to play a big role and his teammates expected big things.

“Chris is more of an outgoing personality,” current Ole Miss wide receiver Jordan Watkins said. “I really like him — he’s in my work-out group, he lifts with me. I’ve gotten to talk to him a little bit more than the other guys.

“He’s going to be a really, really good player for us this year. I think you can see it in the way he works. He’s not one of those guys who gets mad whenever you tell him to do something. He just likes to show up and work. That’s a great characteristic to have. Kind of reminds me of myself a little bit. He’s a tall guy, he’s fast and he’s got really, really good feet and hands.”

Now, Marshall will be attending his third school in two years. The wide receiver clearly has the talent to be one of the top players in the country and hopefully, the JUCO route can give him a new avenue.

Marshall played high school football at Missouri City (TX) Fort Bend Marshall, where he was a five-star prospect. He was the No. 24 overall recruit in the 2022 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Rankings, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
