On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine has a new favorite for PF G.G. Jackson

There has been a major shift in the recruiting tides for Columbia (S.C.) Ridge View five-star power forward G.G. Jackson.

Jackson told GamecockCentral’s Kendall Smith he plans to make his decision in the “next two to three weeks,” and there is already a new favorite for his recruitment.

The On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine gave North Carolina a 86.9% chance of landing his pledge Thursday with South Carolina trailing behind at 10.4 percent.

But one day later, that has flipped. The Gamecocks now hold an 88.2% chance of earning Jackson’s commitment while the Tar Heels are down to 10.3%.

That change is partially a result of On3’s Jamie Shaw putting in a 75% confidence pick Friday morning for South Carolina.

RPM was released to the public in December. The On3 engineering group teamed up with Spiny.ai to create the industry’s first algorithm and machine learning-based product to predict where athletes will attend college. 

It factors in machine learning, expert predictions, social sentiment, visits, and historical trends. However, expert predictions are still a big piece of the RPM equation.

He is the No. 7 overall recruit in the 2023 cycle, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

Jackson currently has an On3 NIL Valuation of $12.3k. The On3 NIL Valuation is an index that looks to set the standard market value for both high school and college-level athletes. The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
