Fairburn (Ga.) Langston Hughes four-star quarterback Air Noland is committing on April 8 and choosing between AlabamaMiamiClemson, Ohio StateArkansasTexas A&M and Oregon. According to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine, the Buckeyes now have a commanding lead for Noland at 84.2%.

Ohio State’s odds rose exponentially following an expert prediction from On3’s Josh Newberg. The 6-foot-2.5, 185-pound signal-caller went to Columbus last weekend and left with an offer.

“Sources have told me Ohio State wants him to be their guy,” Matt Parker of Lettermen Row said. “From what I heard, the visit this past weekend went very well.”

Noland is the No. 111 overall prospect and No. 10 quarterback in the 2024 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 20 player in Georgia.

On3 rates Noland higher than other recruiting services, according to the Industry Comparison. Per the 2024 On300, he is the No. 45 overall prospect, No. 4 quarterback and No. 8 player in Georgia.

“It speaks for itself,” Noland told On3’s Jeremy Johnson on March 25 about Ohio State. “They get Heisman Trophy finalists almost every year. From a quarterback standpoint, they treat their quarterbacks like they’re in the NFL and they develop them like they’re in the NFL. I think the quarterback room at Ohio State has top tier competition. The guys there are really dialed in to Ohio State football and they love getting coached and developed.”

Landing Noland would boost Ohio State’s talented 2024 class

After losing a commitment from Phoenix (Ariz.) Pinnacle Five-Star Plus+ quarterback Dylan Raiola, earning a pledge from Noland would mark a huge recruiting victory for Ohio State. San Antonio (Texas) Veterans Memorial four-star running back James Peoples chose head coach Ryan Day and his staff on April 2. Meanwhile, the highest-ranked member of Ohio State’s class is Hollywood (Fla.) Chaminade-Madonna Prep Five-Star Plus+ wide receiver Jeremiah Smith, the No. 2 overall prospect and No. 1 wide receiver in the 2024 On3 Industry Ranking.

Other players committed to the Buckeyes include New Palestine (Ind.) four-star interior offensive lineman Ian Moore, Sunbury (Ohio) Big Walnut four-star linebacker Garrett Stover and Toledo (Ohio) Central Catholic three-star interior offensive lineman Marc Nave. Meanwhile, Lakewood (Ohio) St. Edward four-star offensive tackle Deontae Armstrong and Lakewood (Ohio) St. Edward four-star offensive tackle Devontae Armstrong chose Ohio State on March 27.
