On300 class of 2023 athlete Micah Tease (Tulsa, Okl./Booker T. Washington) continues to be one of the most heavily recruited prospects in the state of Oklahoma.

The 6-foot-0, 180-pound cornerback and wide receiver is up to 15 offers with all but one coming since June.

A handful of the 15 offers have come since the start of the season, and for good reason.

The No. 126 ranked prospect in the junior class is putting up big numbers this season. Through seven games the versatile playmaker has 19 receptions for 445 yards and six touchdowns, along with 19 tackles, two interceptions and two fumble recoveries.

“My recent offers are Ole Miss, Arkansas, Memphis and OSU,” Tease told On3 Thursday. “And California. Think that’s it.”

The younger brother of former Oklahoma wide receiver Myles Tease has set foot on a number of campuses since June. They include Notre Dame, OSU, OU, Arkansas and TCU.

“They all bring different things to the table. OU, I have seen them before. OSU, have seen them before. Notre Dame, I would probably say was this best because that was the first time I had been up there.”

Tease will take in games the next two Saturday’s at two of college footballs top venues.

“I’m going to be at Notre Dame for their game verses USC this weekend. And I’m going to Oklahoma for their game against Texas Tech.”

Tease lists Texas Tech, OU, Notre Dame and TCU as recruiting him the hardest. One of the key questions surrounding Tease’s recruitment is which side of the ball he will play on at the next level.

“The schools are recruiting me to play both. Some want me as a wide receiver, and some as a cornerback. At wide out is Iowa State, Ole Miss, Arkansas, USC, Pitt and there are some more. At corner is Notre Dame, OU, OSU, Texas Tech, Tulsa and Missouri. I feel comfortably at both. Whatever school I pick, I will be comfortable playing either position.”

Tease is a prospect that is open to getting away for college, but does admit the Sooners move to the SEC is big pull for in state prospects.

“I don’t have to go outside the state to play in the SEC. It’s in my backyard now. It’s in my ballpark. It makes it a tougher decision to not go to OU because you don’t have to leave to play in the SEC.”

The junior class features a handful of future FBS players led by Tease.

LB/EDGE Demitrius Prudom (6-foot-1, 210) is receiving serious interest from Missouri, Oklahoma State, Utah State and Tulsa among others. The athletic and broad-shouldered prospect has recorded 25 tackles nine tackles for loss and four sacks in seven games, along with catching 13 passes for 225 yards and two scores.

Running back D.J. McKinney is considered a playmaker on par with Tease and Oklahoma commit Gentry Williams. The 5-foot-9, 175-pounder has rushed for 397 yards and six scores on 37 carries. He has added 12 receptions for 258 yards and two TDs out of the backfield, and 17 tackles at defensive back.

Tackling machine Aiden Walker is getting looks from Oklahoma State, Missouri and a growing list of others. The 5-foot-11, 195-pounder plays linebacker for Booker T. Washington, but projects as a box safety at the next level. Walker is the most productive player on the team this season tallying 113 tackles, eight tackles for loss and two sacks through seven games.

Two more names to know for the Hornets

Senior Jordan Drew (6-1, 170) is scheduled to announce his college decision October 30 with Utah State considered the favorite. Utah State is recruiting Drew at cornerback, his position of preference. Drew has totaled 22 tackles and an interception on defense this season, along with 18 receptions for 310 yards and four scores at receiver.

The top 2024 prospect in the program is EDGE Jayden Oates. The 6-foot-1, 215-pounder with a big frame to growing into has 40 tackles, nine tackles for loss and four sacks in seven games. He is already drawing Power 5 attention.
