Isaiah Hastings of Palm Harbor (Fla.) Clearwater Academy International is one of the nation’s most coveted defensive linemen. And he’s now ready to make his college commitment.

Hastings said via social media Friday morning he will announce his commitment at 10 a.m. ET Tuesday, Nov. 9 on CBS Sports HQ. The finalists are Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Michigan and Oregon, Hastings said.

Hastings – who is grew up in Ontario, Canada – has become one of the hottest targets in the country. His play as a senior has generated a surge of interest from blueblood programs.

On3 analysts are higher on Isaiah Hastings than other services. He ranks as the No. 75 player in the country in the On300 and the No. 10 defensive lineman overall. He’s also the 11th-best player in Florida.

The On3 Consensus – a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies – ranks Isaiah Hastings as a four-star prospect and the No. 201 player in the country.

Alabama makes big impression on Isaiah Hastings

With Alabama still wanting to add more talent in its 2022 defensive line class, Isaiah Hastings has become a priority target for the Crimson Tide.

Hastings took his first visit to Tuscaloosa last weekend just a few weeks after earning an offer. It was a visit that he raved about to On3’s BCS Alabama.

“It was really, really good,” Hastings told On3’s Jack Terry. “I spent time with everyone. I got to meet a bunch of the players, all the coaches, I met Coach (Nick) Saban of course, I met Miss Terry. It was like a family feel.”

Florida is another school Hastings has visited multiple times since he’s moved to the United States. He was also on a visit to Michigan earlier this summer. Hastings is also still trying to work on an official visit date with Oregon. But Alabama might be tough to beat for his commitment coming off the impressive visit.
