Oregon has a lot of momentum on the recruiting trail to start National Signing Day, and it appears they are on track to keep one of the nation’s top defensive backs on the West Coast.

Long Beach (Calif.) Long Beach Poly four-star cornerback and LSU commit Daylen Austin is now projected by the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine to flip to Oregon.

RPM gives the Ducks a 95.2% chance of landing Austin with predictions from On3 Director of Recruiting Chad Simmons and ScoopDuck’s Justin Hopkins.

RPM was released to the public in December. The On3 engineering group teamed up with Spiny.ai to create the industry’s first algorithm and machine learning-based product to predict where athletes will attend college.

It factors in machine learning, social sentiment, visits and historical trends. However, expert predictions are still a big piece of the RPM equation.

Austin is the No. 105 overall recruit and No. 10 in the 2023 cycle, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

He currently has an On3 NIL Valuation of $144k. The On3 NIL Valuation is the industry’s leading index that sets high school and college athletes’ projected annual value (PAV). The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
