The Pac-12 has dwindled down what is being called by many as the Pac-2, and those two teams are nearing a television deal for the upcoming college football season, according to the Sports Business Journal. Oregon State and Washington State are close to landing a deal for their home football games in 2024, according to the report. Both schools have reportedly bundled them together in a 13-game deal with the CW Network as their primary broadcast partner.

Oregon State running back Damien Martinez figures to be the biggest attraction for both teams in the 2024 campaign. He’s rushed for nearly 1,000 yards in back-to-back seasons and established himself as one of the best tailbacks in America the past few years. He’ll be a junior in 2024 and figures to be a massive piece in the new offensive attack for head coach Trent Bray.

Former Beavers head coach Jonathan Smith moved onto Michigan State this offseason. Trent Bray played at Oregon State from 2002-05, starting 34 straight games during his career. He ranks sixth all-time in program history in tackles with 337.

Bray spent the past two years as the program’s defensive coordinator, and the Beavers have produced a top-40 defense in each of his seasons at the helm.

The Washington State Cougars had an excellent start to their season last year at 4-0, but proceeded to lose seven of their next eight games, falling to 5-7 overall. Quarterback Cam Ward was the bus driver for their offense, throwing for 3,735 yards, while tossing in 25 touchdowns with just seven interceptions. Their biggest wins were against Oregon State (38-35) and Wisconsin (31-22). But the Cougars fell victim to a number of really close losses, losing four games by eight points or less in the second half of the season.

Ward moved on this offseason. He initially flirted with entering the 2024 NFL Draft, before deciding to play for the Miami Hurricanes next year. The Cougars will be looking for a fresh face under center and head coach Jake Dickert recently said that four quarterbacks are vying for the starting job: John Mateer, Zevi Eckhaus, Evans Chuba, and Jaxon Potter.
