Mario Cristobal: ‘We’re growing. We’re getting better.’

As it stands, Oregon is currently in the College Football Playoff. Whether you believe they deserve to be or not, it’s evident that they’ll have a ticket to the dance if they keep up their winning ways.

On Saturday night, the Ducks did just that — taking care of a formidable Pac-12 foe in Washington State. After the game, Mario Cristobal revealed that he believes Oregon is just scratching their surface.

“Look at the effort of our players trying to get that guy on the ground,” Cristobal said, via Scoop Duck. “That’s really good team football. We’re growing. We’re getting better. 1-0 is sinking in.

“I think we’re just scratching the surface.”

Furthermore, Cristobal’s star defender recognizes the Ducks have a target on their back within the Pac-12. With every game meaning so much, the Ducks can’t afford to take a night off.

“Every game is a playoff game,” Oregon star Kayvon Thibodeaux said. “Us having this target on our backs, it makes every team wanna play their best. One thing that we had a problem with was playing down to teams.

“Now, I feel like we’re in that mode where teams have to play up to us.”

When the Ducks take on Utah on in Week 12, the situation will be no different. Oregon is pushing all their chips into the middle of the table — winning the Pac-12 is paramount to their success.
