It got started on his last day of school as a freshman. Northern Iowa was the first school to offer Parker Meese. Less than two months after that, he was up over a dozen offers.

It came much earlier than expected.

“Me and my family were very surprised how quickly the offers came,” Meese told On3. “After the offer from Northern Iowa, over the next five to six weeks, I picked up around 15 more offers. Arizona, Western Kentucky, Louisville, Arkansas, Oregon and some others offered just days after my first offer.

“All were big surprises. My dream has always been to play college football, do to get these offers, start to talk to coaches and have that opportunity is very exciting.”

Meese is up to over 30 offers as he approaches his junior season. Since his recruitment took off early, the 6-foot-2, 215-pound linebacker has hit the road, met numerous coaching staff and started his journey.

“I have visited around 14-15 schools already. I have already visited Texas A&M around four times. Arkansas is a school I have visited multiple times. Then I have visited Tennessee, Miami, Oregon, Maryland, Ole Miss, Michigan, UNLV and some others too.

“It has been great to get out, see places and start to develop relationships.”

Meese is looking for the right coaches to guide him

Relationships will be key for Meese as he navigates through the recruiting process. In the near future, coaches will be allowed to reach out directly to prospects in the 2025 class. That will go a long with in Meese’s recruitment.

“I want to play for good men that want to help me on and off the field,” Meese said. “Relationships will be one of the most important things for me. And it won’t be just about coaches that can help me with my game on the field, but being around coaches that can help prepare me for life after football is important too.”

Through all of the visits, some schools stand out to Meese early. He does not have an official list of favorites and he is still taking everything in, but schools have made strong early impressions.

“Texas A&M, UNLV, North Carolina, Arkansas and Michigan are up there. Tennessee, Ole Miss and Miami are a few others that I like a lot. I have good relationships early with coaches at all of those schools. We keep in contact with each other, I have visited all of those schools and I plan on getting back to a lot of them.”

Meese is in no rush to make a decision. He is focused on his junior season and he will continue to focus on relationships and keep an open mind through the process.

Meese is moving from Dallas to Bradenton

Meese played his first two seasons of high school football at Parish Episcopal in Dallas. He has moved to Florida and enrolled at IMG Academy, where he will begin his junior year in August.

He is excited about the new opportunity.

“The move to IMG Academy was about the coaches,” Meese said. “IMG Academy has big-time coaches that come from the NFL and college all over. I get to play for great coaches and learn so much.

“Defensive coordinator Brian Neidermeyer and I have had some great talks already. I have learned so much from him. At IMG Academy, I am going to a school where I will learn a lot, be around high-level recruits every day in practice and play against top competition all over the country each game.”

Making the move from Texas to Florida was no problem for Meese. Location will not factor into his recruitment either.

“I will go anywhere. I have already visited schools all over the country and I will go anywhere. It has been a great journey so far, I have started to build some good relationships and I am interested to see what is next.”
