After some exciting finishes and intriguing upsets in Week 6, ESPN’s Paul Finebaum has revealed his latest top-four teams following the action. Previously top ranked Alabama losing to Texas A&M could seriously shake up the polls entering Week 7, and that proved to be true in Finebaum’s rankings.

Finebaum’s top-four following Week 6

1. Georgia Bulldogs

With Alabama falling in Week 6, Georgia now looks to be the team to beat in college football and the SEC. The Bulldogs have an elite defense that has shown that it can contain anybody. Georgia is 6-0 and it has played much of the season without starting quarterback JT Daniels. On Saturday, Georgia defeated Auburn 34-10. Georgia is the clear best team in football and unsurprisingly sits atop Finebaum’s top four.

“At number one, it is indisputable,” Finebaum said Sunday on SportsCenter. “Georgia should be the unanimous No. 1 pick. They continue to dominate on offense. And remember, they’re using a backup quarterback.  That’s why they are so remarkable.”

2. Iowa Hawkeyes

Things were looking bleak for Iowa after Penn State got out to an early lead and led 14-3 at the end of the first quarter. But once Penn State quarterback Sean Clifford went down, Iowa took over the game. Like Georgia, Iowa has a stout defense. The Hawkeyes intercepted the ball four times on Saturday. Iowa was ranked at No. 3 entering the matchup, but Finebaum thinks that they are the clear best team behind Georgia in his latest top four.

“At No. 2, the Iowa Hawkeyes,” Finebaum said. “What an incredible scene.  What an incredible win for them against Penn State. They have bigger fish to fry later on but they are in good shape.”

3: Cincinnati Bearcats

Cincinnati is the clear best Group of Five team in the nation, and the Bearcats continue to climb national rankings. In Week 6, Cincinnati completely dominated Temple and came away with a 52-3 victory.

“At No. 3, we can talk about their schedule but you can’t keep the Bearcats out,” said Finebaum. “Cincinnati continues to win.  They have another opportunity coming up against UCF which is battered a little bit but is still a premier game for this program.”

4. Oklahoma Sooners

It took a monumental comeback and a heroic effort by freshman quarterback Caleb Williams, but Oklahoma came away with a 55-48 victory over Texas. While it hasn’t been pretty, Oklahoma is 6-0 and still cracks Finebaum’s top four.

“It’s easy to beat up on Oklahoma but they continue to win and give Lincoln Riley credit,” Finebaum said of the Sooners. “He pulled the preseason Heisman favorite from the game because he was making too many mistakes and they ended up beating their arch rival, so Oklahoma in the four position.”
