Penn State adds On300 LB Mathieu Lamah to Top 10 recruiting class

Manassas (Va.) Patriot On300 linebacker Mathieu Lamah has committed to Penn State.
The four-star prospect chose to play for head coach James Franklin and the Nittany Lions over Michigan, North Carolina, Kentucky, Virginia Tech and Rutgers.
“I feel like Penn State has been a school I’ve always wanted to go to since they offered me,” Lamah told On3. “I imagined myself there when I went to their White Out game and the love just continued the more I went down.”
The 6-foot-3, 230-pound Lamah becomes commit No. 15 for Penn State in the 2026 cycle. The On3 Industry previously ranked the class No. 9 nationally.
“I knew they would be the school I went to for awhile,” Lamah said. “Even visiting other schools it would change but every time I head back or communicate with them I get reassured that this is a place and atmosphere I want to be in.”
Linebackers coach Dan Connor was the lead recruiter for the Nittany Lions.
“Can see myself fitting into what they do well while being coached by a great linebackers coach that has played the game at a really high level, and a DC with tonss of experience and is known for having the number one defense,” Lamah said.

Lamah joins four-stars Terry Wiggins and Daniel Jennings as second-level defenders in the class. He believes the program is on the cusp of its next National Championship.
“I feel they have so much success because of the culture that comes with being a Penn State football player,” Lamah said. “They all know what it takes to be great and with a great coach like Franklin leading the charge and really caring about everyone on the team and striving for success each year and setting a high standard for everyone.
“I’ve also built a good connection with Terry Wiggins since January when we were both up there for a junior day and building it from there seeing each other at other visits, so going in with a guy that I’ve built a bond with is also a great thing.”
On3 ranks Lamah as the nation’s No. 19 linebacker and No. 275 prospect overall.
