After taking an official visit this weekend, Willis (Texas) four-star interior offensivelineman Day’jon Moore has committed to Pitt, he announced.

He chose the Panthers over Maryland, SMU and others.

Moore is the No. 371 overall prospect and No. 28 IOL in the 2026 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He’s also the No. 50 player in Texas.

On3 ranks the 6-foot-2, 250-pounder higher than other recruiting services. He checks in as the No. 204 recruit and No. 9 IOL in the 2026 On300.

Landing Moore is the biggest recruiting win this cycle for Pitt head coach Pat Narduzzi and his staff. The ACC program has now added three blue-chip pledges this month and has a class that’s charging for top-30 status in the On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings.

Moore is the top-ranked member of the class to date. His commitment moved the Panthers from No. 42 to No. 35 in the class rankings.

He plays for a notable high school football program in Texas. Willis, the alma mater of star Florida quarterback DJ Lagway, finished as the No. 17 team in the state last season, according to the On3 Composite Rankings.

Pitt compiling big commitments this month

Of the 17 commits in Pitt’s class to date, 12 have joined the fold this month. That includes each of the six highest-ranked prospects, headlined by Moore and Norfolk (Va.) Maury four-star linebacker Isaiah Simmons, who committed on June 7.

Simmons is a top-400 recruit and the No. 31 LB in the cycle. On June 9, Pitt landed a pledge from Baltimore Milford Mill Academy star and On300 running back Damon Ferguson. He checks in as On3’s No. 24 burner and No. 6 player in Maryland.

“The potential to get developed and everyone’s commitment to challenging you and pushing you to be a better player as a better man and person,” Ferguson told On3’s Steve Wiltfong about why he chose the ACC program.

Other prospects to join the Pitt class this month include: Thomasville (Ga.) Thomas County Central three-star wide receiver Jaydon Dunbar, Pittsburgh Peters Township three-star LB Reston Lehman, Pearland (Texas) three-star offensive tackle Nicholas Howard and Clearwater (Fla.) three-star cornerback Kentrail McRae.

The class also features a pair of Lone Star State quarterbacks in Southlake Carroll three-star Angelo Renda and Seguin three-star Corey Dailey, the No. 70 and No. 77 QBs in the cycle, respectively.
