According to Aaron Wilson, an NFL reporter, former Georgia Bulldogs defensive back DJ Daniel will workout for the Green Bay Packers. Daniel, a cornerback, will have the opportunity to compete for a spot on the Packers roster.

DJ Daniel saw the field in two seasons at Georgia, in 2019 and 2020. During that time, he played in 17 games and made 51 total tackles.

Unfortunately for DJ Daniel, his NFL career hasn’t taken off to this point. He was undrafted out of college, spending some time with the New England Patriots, though never played in a regular season game. Along with the Patriots, he spent time with the Jacksonville Jaguars but was waived after one preseason game.

If this workout with Green Bay goes well, it could breathe new life into DJ Daniel’s NFL career.

For the Packers, it’s been a long and difficult season. At 5-8, the Packers are in third place for the NFC North, completely out of contention for the division crown. Meanwhile, the Wild Card is a long shot. Several players on Green Bay are dealing with injuries, including several defensive backs.

In particular, cornerback Eric Stokes is on injured reserve.

Could anyone beat Georgia in the CFP?

DJ Daniel’s old team, Georgia, is the clear favorite to win the College Football Playoff this season. However, there is always a chance for an upset. Paul Finebaum explained that there is one chance who has some shot of upsetting the Bulldogs.

“Because I’m forced to, I’ll say Ohio State. Primarily because of CJ Stroud. On a given day, maybe with all the compliments around him with Marvin Harrison, he could explode and cause Georgia some issues. Although, I’m not counting on that,” Paul Finebaum explained.

“I think Michigan has a really ground-it-out team. They’re very solid, but I don’t think they’re going to be a match for Georgia. And I know you can’t compare last year to this year, but Georgia just toyed with them like a mouse and a cat last year. I don’t think that would be any better this year. TCU, if they sneak in there, could create some issues. But I’m going with Georgia with a question that really doesn’t have a good answer. It’s all Georgia.”
