Sir Mohammed, a four-star small forward in the 2024 class, has announced his top six schools: Marquette, Oklahoma, Penn State, Stanford, Villanova, and Virginia Tech.

“This is just my current top six, and I will not be completely closing my recruitment to other schools,” Mohammed said to On3.

The 6-foot-6, 200-pound junior out of Charlotte (N.C.) Myers Park has taken official visits to Stanford and Penn State and made unofficial trips to Virginia Tech, Villanova, and Oklahoma. He currently does not have a timeline for a commitment.

Mohammed, a native of Lexington, Kentucky, also received offers from Notre Dame, Ohio State, Michigan, NC State, Georgetown, Xavier, and others.

Sir is the son of Nazr Mohammed, an 18-year NBA veteran and former Kentucky Wildcat.

Mohammed breaks down his top 6 schools

Marquette: “The culture they are building and Coach (Shaka) Smart and his staff there are great. They’ve been supporting me a lot throughout this whole school season.”

Oklahoma: “Went to a game and really enjoyed the environment and what they are doing. I really like Coach (Porter) Moser and his staff a lot.

Penn State: “The relationship made with the Coach (Micah) Shrewsberry and Coach Aki (Collins) and the rest of the staff has been amazing and both my unofficial and official visit were great.”

Stanford: “I really like the relationship I have with Coach (Jerod) Haase and Coach Rob (Ehsan) and the whole staff there, and enjoyed my official a lot. The great academics is very cool as well.”

Villanova: “I really enjoyed my unofficial visit I took there this winter. The environment was great. I love the foundation of the program and really appreciate the relationship I have built with Coach (Kyle) Neptune and his staff.”

Virginia Tech: “One of the first schools to really recruit me and have recruited me strongly the whole process. Coach (Mike) Young and Coach (Kevin) Giltner and the rest of the staff there is great.”

Scouting Report

“Sir Mohammed has good length with a projectable frame. The most interesting part of the 6-foot-6 forwards game is his passing. Mohammed has excellent court vision, with great tough on his on-target and on-time deliveries. While he is an average athlete, which may create questions on who he guards, he is a smart team defender who understands angles. He has a consistent release on his jump shot, but it has a tendency to flatten out and is inconsistent. He can attack closeouts in straight lines and is a good area rebounder. Mohammed’s dad, Nazr Mohammed, played in the NBA for 18 years.” – On3’s Jamie Shaw

Mohammed ranks as the No. 91 overall prospect in the 2024 On3 Industry Rankings — the average ranking from all four major recruiting media companies (ESPN, 247Sports, Rivals, On3).
