Hampton, Virginia – With so much focus on the 17u division and the class of 2023, On3 takes a look at the five standouts from the 2024 class at Hoop Group’s Southern Jam Fest.

5-10 CG Jordan Vick, Team Trezz 16u

Jordan Vick is a ball of electricity, an exciting player to watch. He is a scoring lead guard who is capable of running a team but at his best when attacking buckets. He creates space in the half-court with his footwork and confidence. And, he will turn the corner, get downhill, and dunk on a late rotating big.

Recruitment: Claimed offers from Florida, Wake Forest, Vanderbilt, etc.

6-9 PF Eli Delaurier, Team Loaded VA 3SSB 16u

Eli DeLaurier’s mom (then C’ta Mitchelson) starred at Rutgers, and his brother (Javin) starred at Duke. It should not surprise anyone that the youngest brother is becoming a high-level recruit. DeLaurier helped lead his team to the 16u championship game. His hard work is what allows his production, but knocking down multiple threes and throwing down big dunks in traffic certainly support the cause. DeLaurier is tough on the boards, walls up well on defense, and is an offensive threat. Still growing into his body, he is shaping up as a national-level type recruit.

Recruitment: Claimed offers from Texas A&M, Mississippi State, West Virginia, etc.

6-8 SF Khani Rooths, New World 3SSB 17u

Khani Rooths is playing up an age group and played a central role in getting his team to the Southern Jam Fest 17u finals. Rooths is simply brimming with upside, and his flashes are starting to turn into production. The frame is already next level. He is comfortable in the mid-post and has the handle, getting downhill to the rim. Continue monitoring his development, unranked currently by On3, which should end with our next update.

Recruitment: Maryland, Georgetown, Indiana, Virginia Tech, etc.

6-7 SF Caden Diggs, New World 3SSB 16u

Walking up to take a courtside seat, you immediately notice Caden Diggs. He has a great frame with long arms and broad shoulders. Once the ball tips, you cannot take your eyes off his performance. Diggs plays within the flow of the offense but was a threat from anywhere on the floor. He knocked down multiple catch and shoot threes from the elbow out to three. Diggs was a blur in transition with a crafty handle and finish, and he attacked the rim in the half-court, absorbing contact and finishing above the rim. He is now in our database.

Recruitment: Claimed offers from Xavier, NJIT, Howard

6-9 PF Royce Parham, Team Durant EYBL 16u

Royce Parham is a new name to add to the list; however, it is one to start paying attention. He is a 6-foot-9 forward who is only 15-years-old. Parham plays with great energy, he is an active and tough rebounder, and he steps out and knocks down threes. His mom played at Penn State, and they say the Pittsburgh area native may still be growing. Upside, upside, upside.

Recruitment: Claimed offers from Duquesne and Robert Morris
