Provo (Utah) Timpview four-star offensive tackle Spencer Fano is announcing his commitment tonight at 9:00 p.m. ET. And ahead of that, coaches from some of his top schools made their way to Utah for final in-home visits — he previously revealed a top four of BYUMichiganOregon and Utah.

On Sunday, Oregon head coach Dan Lanning and offensive line coach Adrian Klemm stopped by. Twenty-four hours later, Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh and assistants Sherrone Moore and Grant Newsome were in. And a few hours after that, Utah head coach Kyle Whittingham and his assistants made their stop as well.

A 6-foot-4, 250-pound prospect, Fano is the No. 145 overall prospect and No. 11 offensive tackle in the 2023 cycle, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 2 player in Utah.

On3 rates Fano higher than other recruiting services, according to the Industry Comparison. Per the 2023 On300, he is the No. 1 player in Utah.

According to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine, Utah has a commanding lead to land Fano’s commitment at 85.7%. ScoopDuck.com’s Justin Hopkins recently changed his expert pick from the Ducks to the Utes.

Spencer Fano On3 Scouting Summary

The following is the On3 Scouting Summary for Spencer Fano:

“Light-footed, technical offensive tackle. Always under control and a menace in the running and passing game. Plays with violence and has exceptional balance. Athleticism stands out when working in open space as a puller and when climbing to the second level. Comfortable in pass protection. Quality kick slide and footwork to live on an island at either tackle spot. Lacks ideal overall mass and strength throughout his frame.

“One of the few top offensive linemen nationally who does not have verified size or length. Biggest question mark for how soon he can see the field will be his ability to put on good weight. Must add power in order to play with necessary functional strength. Has a high upside due to his movement skills but a low floor as well if he can not get his weight up.”
