TCU flips touted JUCO DL Kelten Mickell from Liberty

Petal (Miss.) Jones College defensive lineman Kelten Mickell announced on Monday that he’s flipped his commitment from Liberty to TCU.
The top junior college talent was pledged to the Flames since June 24, but is now set to head to Fort Worth next season and play for the Horned Frogs. He also held Power Four offers from South Carolina, Georgia, Tennessee and Miami.
Mickell is ranked as the No. 4 JuCo prospect in the nation, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is a former Class of 2023 recruit.
Across two seasons at Jones College, Mickell racked up 66 tackles and a pair of sacks. He now joins a TCU class that’s pushing for top-25 status in the On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings.

Earlier this month, the Frogs landed a pledge from Irving (Texas) Ranchview four-star wide receiver Terry Shelton, a former Arizona commit. Shelton took a big leap in the latest On300 rankings update and is now the No. 63 recruit and No. 11 WR in the cycle.
Humble (Texas) Summer Creek four-star EDGE Chad Woodfork committed at the end of May and is now the No. 114 prospect and No. 13 EDGE in the nation. Columbus (Texas) four-star quarterback Adam Schobel, a former Oklahoma State and Baylor commit, is in the mix as the nation’s No. 16 signal-caller.
