Tee Barlett is a 6-foot-10 post who has carried a big reputation since middle school.

I’m a good post player,” Barlett told On3. “I got a little handle, I’m a good passer, and can shoot a little bit. I watch a lot of Demarcus Cousins, his post moves, and mid-range. I’ll watch some Hakeem Olajuwon too, the dream shake and his footwork.”

College programs are starting to take notice of the Henderson (NV) Coronado High center. On3 caught up with Tee Bartlett to see which schools are prioritizing him early.

“I have offers from Kansas State, Howard, USC, and UNLV,” Bartlett said. “I’m planning to take an unofficial visit soon to USC and UNLV.”

Bartlett talks recruitment

Kansas State: “I love the coach, Coach (Jerome) Tang. I haven’t seen them play much, but he used to coach at Baylor, and I watched a lot of them. He is a really good coach, and I really like him.”

Southern California: “That was my dream school growing up; everyone from LA wants to go to USC growing up. I was blessed for that to be my first offer. They told me they liked my attitude and they think I am a good teammate. They tell me they love their bigs. Like some schools are guard schools; they offer really good bigs, develop them, and make sure they get the ball.

UNLV: “It is a good school. I talked to the coach about their culture, and he explained how much they love big men.”

“My brother, Brian Hightower, played football at Miami and Illinois. My other brother, Derick Newton, played at Stetson and is overseas now.”

Bartlett’s take

“I’m going to look at the academics,” Bartlett said. “I can get injured at any time, my brothers keep telling me that, so education is big for my family.

“I want to see the facilities, their training and practice facilities. I’ll want to see how they develop their bigs and how they use their bigs. I want to see everything they offer to make me better, the classrooms, the training room, the weight room.

“My brother, Brian Hightower, played football at Miami and Illinois. My other brother, Derrick Newton, played at Stetson and is overseas now.”

On3’s take

Tee Bartlett is big; he has a naturally large frame at 6-foot-10. He has good passer-friendly hands and is good receiving passes on the block or on the move. Bartlett will need to stay on top of his conditioning. Lateral movement will be a question. He has long arms and a good touch around the basket. There are a lot of tools there with a lot of upside.
