Cypress, Texas – Defensive lineman Terrance Green quickly ascended as a junior at Cy Woods High.

The 6-foot-4.5, 260-pounder posted 40 tackles, 11 tackles for loss and 5.5 sacks as a junior. The junior season was impressive considering where the Houston area lineman was just a year ago.

“I’ve probably gained like 45 pounds (since last year),” Green told On3. “Or 50 pounds. I’m about 260 now. I was around 210 a year ago.”

With the frame development and strong junior tape, the offers starting rolling in after the season. Texas Tech was the first to offer November 12. The Red Raiders have since been joined by five more Big 12 schools, Colorado and future Big 12 member Houston.

Green has a top three with more offers on the way

Terrance Green has set foot on the campus of five Big 12 schools since the beginning of the 2021 season.

“I’ve been to Oklahoma State, Tech, Baylor, Texas and TCU. Texas and Baylor were game day visits, and then TCU, Tech and Oklahoma State were junior days.”

With five visits in the rearview mirror and relationships developing, Green informed On3 a top three headed into the spring. Oklahoma State, Texas Tech and Baylor have emerged as the teams to beat.

Oklahoma State: Coach Gundy, I love him. Great guy. He was just letting me know that Oklahoma State is somewhere I could call home. He was letting me know that he would take care of me all three to four years. And just that he loves me.

Texas Tech: I have a great relationship with Coach McGuire, he’s my guy. Both he and Coach Blanchard. Coach McGuire told me I’m like his son. Also he just let me know that if I need anything, just to call him and he will always be there for me.

Baylor: Same thing. They treat me like family. They are in contact with me all the time.

Green currently has 10 offers with that number expected to head north to 20 after the spring evaluation period.

“I would say Texas is one of them showing interest. Utah and Boston College too. Also USC. That’s pretty much it. The Texas defensive coordinator came by in January. Kansas State was the school showing the most interest until they offered me last week.”

Green prefers defense, open to offensive tackle

Green loves playing defense. He wants to be a defensive lineman. With that said, his ultimate goal is to make it to the NFL. And with that goal in mind, he’s open to playing the position that provides hims that best chance.

“I love defense, that’s my passion. That’s where I want to get recruited at, but I also like to win. My ultimate goal is to get to the NFL, so wherever that leads me.”

The colleges that have had Green on campus have different messages when it comes to how they see him.

“Oklahoma State wants me as an offensive lineman. They feel like I’m a great defensive end, but see potential in me as an offensive tackle. TCU and Baylor told they feel like I can play both. So they said when I get there I could try both and see where I fit. Tech is telling me defensive line.”

Green lists Ohio State as his dream school.
