Texas A&M has been busy in recent days sending out offers to a plethora of prospects, almost all ranging from the classes of 2024 to 2026. However, last night, there was an offer sprinkled in that took a second to comprehend as the Aggies offered class of 2027 Little Elm (Tex.) ATH Zane Rowe.

For those trying to figure out the math, class of 2027 is currently in the eight grade.

The offer was obviously the first for Rowe, who reported the offer on Twitter.

What is even more crazy though is that upon first glance, Rowe does appear as a normal eight grader. This would be due to the fact that Rowe measures in at 6-foot-5, 220 pounds. He tells me the Aggies offered him at tight end.

I spoke with the 14-year old Rowe just following the offer and it seemed as though he couldn’t believe what just happened.

“I am just so so grateful! Now it’s time to work harder than before.”

“It’s like an out of body experience,” Rowe said. “It’s like I was hearing the conversation but wasn’t there. Just so shocked and in disbelief. I’m just so grateful!”

It is fun to see Rowe so ecstatic over the offer, which Texas A&M wide receivers coach James Coley was responsible for extending.

It is not often eighth graders are offered. But when they are, it gives you an idea of special they are athletically from such an early age.

A look at the class of 2024 for the Aggies

To date, Texas A&M holds four commitments in the class of 2024 in four-star Hattiesburg (Miss.) Oak Grove quarterback Anthony Maddox, four-star Longview (Texas) Pine Tree defensive lineman Dealyn Evans, four-star Katy (Texas) Tompkins offensive lineman Ashton Funk, and four-star Alpharetta (Ga.) Milton wide receiver Debron Gatling.

Texas A&M’s class of 2024 currently has a score of 89.856, good for No. 17 nationally, and No. 9 in the SEC. The Aggies sat at No. 15 sometime last month, but even with a commitment in February, have dropped spots due to others around them jumping ahead.

As of right now, there are a total of 14 prospects in the class of 2024 who are favored in the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine to land with Texas A&M. A good portion of them were on campus in January for junior day visits and are also planning return visits in the spring.

If the Aggies can take advantage of some momentum gained and relationships built in the past month or so, I think there is a good chance Texas A&M is back in the top-10 national team recruiting rankings and top-5 in the SEC by the summer rolls around.
