For much of his recruitment, it seemed like Camden (N.J.) Winslow Township four-star wide receiver Jaylan Hornsby would stay close to home on the East Coast. Following an official visit to Texas A&M, that view seems to have changed.

Hornsby took his official to College Station on June 16 and now the Aggies hold a commanding lead in his recruitment according to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine. The Aggies chances of landing his pledge sit at 92.3%.

Texas A&M made the cut for Hornsby’s top two joining Penn State. The trip back to College Station was his second of the year as he was on campus for the first time in late March.

The 6-foot-1.5, 200-pounder is the No. 376 overall prospect and No. 61 wide receiver in the 2024 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 5 player in New Jersey.

Jaylan Hornsby currently has an On3 NIL Valuation of $39K. The On3 NIL Valuation is the industry’s leading index that sets high school and college athletes’ projected annual value (PAV). The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.

Texas A&M closing in on top-15 class

Texas A&M currently has seven commitments in its 2024 class. The group ranks as the No. 17 class in the country and No. 9 in the SEC.

Of the Aggies’ seven pledges, three are ranked as four-star prospects. They are Longview (Texas) Pine Tree top-80 defensive lineman Dealyn Evans, Blountstown (Fla.) safety Jordan Pride and Katy (Texas) Tompkins interior offensive lineman Ashton Funk.

After signing the No. 1 class during the 2022 recruiting cycle, Texas A&M was off of at that pace during the 2023 cycle. They signed 19 players during the cycle and finished with the No. 15 class in the country and No. 6 in the SEC.
