On Friday, Dallas hosted elite talent on the national level as well as within the state of Texas. 10+ ranked prospects were at Coppell High School for a total of four games.

Game 1: Coppell High School (TX) vs Vertical Academy (NC)

Game 2: Donda Academy (CA) vs Premier Academy (TX)

Game 2: McKinney High School (TX) vs Wagner High School (TX)

Game 3: Link Year Prep (MO) vs. iSchool (TX)

Top Performers

PG Austin Nunez (Wagner High School, TX), 2022

Nunez was by far the leading scorer of all four games on Friday night, dropping 41 points in a loss to McKinney. Nunez is a pure scorer and shows effort on both ends. He’s not the most athletic and might be slightly undersized at 6-foot-2, but he can shoot the lights out, especially from three. On Friday, he shot 58% from beyond the arc, knocking down 7 of his 12 three-point attempts. On defense, he gets after it and plays with effort. Nunez has a quick footspeed, allowing him to stick with his defender when playing man to man. He will need to continue to learn how to impact the game while playing off the ball.

On3 Consensus Ranking: No. 81 Nationally

Recruitment: Signed with Arizona State

PG Trey Green (Link Year Academy, MO), 2023

Trey Green impressed me the most out of anyone on Friday night. Despite being undersized at 5-foot-11, Green plays with a dog mentality. He is the exact representation of the phrase ‘Heart over Height.’ Green plays the right way and knows how to score the ball. He plays with effort, confidence, and is the type of guy you want on your team. Green lead his team in scoring with 20 points and added 5 assists. Trey Green is currently unranked by On3 but expect to see his name on the updated list. Nebraska and Virginia Tech have both hosted him on campus. He also holds offers from Clemson, Cincinnati, Boston College, Wichita State, amongst others.

Additionally, what makes Green even more impressive is that plays on an already loaded team at Link Year.

Julian Phillips (LSU) and Omaha Biliew are both On3 consensus five stars. Jordan Walsh (Arkansas) is top-25. Not to mention, Felix Okpara (Ohio State) and Tarris Reed (Michigan) are both high four-stars.

Okpara finished with 10 points and 9 rebounds. Phillips had 13 points and 8 rebounds. Biliew added 8 points and 6 rebounds.

SF Jahki Howard (Donda Academy, CA), 2024

Originally from Norcross High School in Georgia, Howard decided to make the move to California this summer to join Kanye West’s new school, Donda Academy. Despite being one of the youngest at the event, Howard did not show it and he truly put on a show. He’s incredibly athletic and you would never guess he’s only a sophomore. He looks about 6-foot-7 with likely more room to grow. With long arms, Howard has the potential to also be a great defender. Howard will need to continue to improve his skill set, as he currently impresses with his athleticism alone. He lead his team in scoring with 16 points while shooting 58% from the field, to go along with 9 boards. 2024 prospects aren’t yet ranked for On3, but Howard is a sure-fire five-star prospect.

Offers: Kansas, Florida State, LSU, Auburn, Illinois, Tennessee, Texas, amongst others.
