1. Terry Bussey — Texas A&M commit

5-star ATH Terry Bussey (Sam Spiegelman, On3)

School: Timpson (Texas)
On300 Ranking: No. 15
On3 NIL Valuation: $341K

Scouting Summary: Terry Bussey is a do-it-all athlete who is arguably the best high school football player in the state of Texas. Measured a shade over 5-foot-10 and around 180 pounds prior to his senior season. A top athlete, both in the combine setting and on the track. One of the fastest prospects in the 2024 cycle. Ran a personal best of 10.66 seconds in the 100 meters as a sophomore, finishing 3rd in the state meet. Posted strong marks in the long jump (23-4.75 feet and triple jump (45-11 feet) as a junior. Lines up at quarterback and defensive back for Timpson. Has eviscerated the level of competition dating back to his freshman season. Boasts a rare combination of top-tier explosiveness and fluidity.

“Gashes defenses with his legs. Shows range while working as a defensive back, both as a safety and corner. Does a nice job staying in phase in man coverage. Physical defender and is willing to stick his face into traffic. Shows the ability to track the ball as a receiver. A dominant player on Friday nights with elite production. Finished his junior season with 4,773 yards and 72 touchdowns from scrimmage en route to being named Mr. Texas Football. Also picked off five passes, returning four for touchdowns. A four-sport athlete with a sterling multi-sport profile. Averaged 19.6 points per game in basketball and has the ability to throw down dunks at 5-foot-10. Has genuine positional ambiguity at the next level, with his highest upside appearing to be as a defensive back given his natural athleticism and playmaking ability. Is not overly refined as a receiver and would need time to develop as a route-runner. May lack some size, but is an elite athlete with an undeniable body of work as a high school player.”

2. Liam Andrews — Penn State signee

School: Brookline (Mass.) Dexter
On300 Ranking: No. 123
On3 NIL Valuation: $160K

Scouting Summary: Liam Andrews is a light-footed, physically-gifted two-way lineman who has significant developmental upside as an offensive line prospect. Has a leaner build at around 6-foot-4.5, 255 pounds with a big frame to add weight. Has measured with a 10.25-inch hand. Owns outstanding length with arms that have measured over 34.5 inches. Plays on both sides of the ball at the high school level as an offensive tackle and defensive lineman. An elite, twitchy mover relative to other offensive line prospects. Has outstanding reactive quickness. Projects as a strong pass protector with his quick feet and length. Could play tackle or move inside.

“Makes easy work of opposing defensive linemen. Excels as a puller to the second level. Flashes his notable athleticism (particularly relative to other offensive line prospects) in tracking down plays from behind. Also shows active, quick hands on defense. Will need to add mass and adjust to the uptick in competition making the jump from Massachusetts to the Power 5. Older for the class, turning 19 years-old in December of his senior year. Has a much higher long-term upside as an offensive lineman with the side of the ball he plays on likely playing a role in determining his ceiling as a prospect.”

3. Kam Mikell — Colorado signee

School: Statesboro (Ga.)
On300 Ranking: No. 140
On3 NIL Valuation: $116K

Scouting Summary: Kam Mikell is a top athlete with a multi-faceted skill set who has the physical upside to develop into one of the top cornerback prospects in the 2024 cycle. Measured in at over 6-foot, 180 pounds prior to his senior season. A strong sprinter with some of the better track times among top 2024 cornerbacks. Finished third in the 100 meters at the state track finals as a sophomore with a personal best 10.50 mark.

“Backs up that speed in the camp setting and on the field. Primarily plays quarterback and corner for Statesboro High. Dangerous with the ball in his hands. Has the ability to rip off long gains with his home run speed. Flashes the long speed to stay attached on downfield routes as a cornerback. Also shows outstanding range as a run defender and in downfield pursuit. Owns a very strong multi-sport profile in addition to track and football as he is also a very good high school basketball player, showcasing coordination and movement skills. Ball skills register as satisfactory as a cornerback prospect, but can continue improving on that front. Has considerable developmental upside due to his athleticism, but will need to hone technical aspects of his game once he becomes a full-time defensive back.”

4. Quinton Martin — Penn State signee

School: Belle Vernon (Pa.)
On300 Ranking: No. 145
On3 NIL Valuation: $197K

Scouting Summary: Quinton Martin is a big-play high school running back who has the skills and physical dimensions to project at a few different spots at the college level. One of the best runners in the 2024 cycle and would be considered among the top running back prospects in the nation. A threat to score on any play, regularly ripping off long runs and returns. Gets downhill quickly and has the speed and long stride to pull away in the open field. Uses contact balance and an emerging stiff arm to run through tackle attempts. Returned several kicks for touchdowns. Doubles as a very good high school basketball player. Has some genuine positional ambiguity but looks like a top prospect, regardless of where he ends up at the college level.”

5. Boo Carter — Tennessee signee

Boo Carter on his commitment: “Coach Heupel was a very important factor for me,” Carter said. “He has been very cool with me in this process. He was an immediate factor for me. I know Coach Heup is busy every day, but I get on the phone with him when I am on the phone with the position coaches. He will text you, too. We are close. He has things going the right way up there.”

6. Micahi Danzy — Florida State signee

School: Tallahassee Florida State University School
On300 Ranking: No. 238
On3 NIL Valuation: $103K

Danzy’s high school head coach Jarrod Hickman: “[Micahi Danzy] is not afraid to bring the contact or put his head in there, run hard and get the tough yards,” Hickman said. “He won’t try to just outrun you. He likes the tough yards. . .

“You go to the next level in college, and the biggest thing kids have to adjust to is the blocking. He’s a really good blocker for us. . . I thought he became a really good blocker last season, along with his pass-catching skills. That is another underrated part of his game not many people talk about, but we see.”

7. Cam Dooley — Kentucky signee

School: Valley (Ala.)
On300 Ranking: No. 247
On3 NIL Valuation: $96K

Kentucky insider Adam Luckett on Cam Dooley: “Elite high school athlete at Valley (Ala.) High. Star basketball player who played for an undefeated state champ. Played quarterback, wide receiver, and safety. Scored 35 total touchdowns as a senior and logged 56 tackles. Developmental recruit who flashes explosion on tape. Raw traits are obvious. Could become a rangy, physical safety with good ball skills.”

8. Xavier Gayten — Mississippi State signee

School: Brookhaven (Miss.)
On300 Ranking: No. 249

Mississippi State insider Robbie Faulk on Xavier Gayten: “The 6-foot-0, 190-pounder was the team’s running back at Brookhaven and dominated the scene. In three years, Gayten rushed for 5,216 yards and 56 touchdowns, averaging 7.8 yards per rush over his career. After carrying it for 1,654 yards and 13 scores as a junior, Gayten was named first-team All-State this past season as he eclipsed the 2,000-yard mark and scored 25 touchdowns. He also ran track at Brookhaven and clocked a 10.95 in his 100m dash.

“Expected to play safety at MSU, Gayten has already shown the ability to tote the rock on the offensive side of the ball and would be more than capable of running the ball in college if need be.

9. Aeryn Hampton — Alabama signee

School: Daingerfield (Texas)
On3 NIL Valuation: $163K

On3 Sports National Director of Scouting and Rankings Charles Power: Aeryn Hampton is a versatile athlete. He’s a guy who has been on our radar for quite some time. He can make plays on both sides of the ball. As a receiver, he’s a high-volume, possession slot type. He’s effective working underneath. He has very strong hands.

“Hampton was more of a true receiver as a junior. He played all over the field as a senior, actually a little quarterback. Ran the ball a good bit. As a receiver, he probably projects as a slot, primarily. But he’s a guy who is very physical. I think he’ll do the dirty work. He has very good ball skills. I think his tracking ability is pretty advanced. He can make contested catches, even for a smaller receiver.”

10. Andy Bass — Oklahoma commit

OU commit Andy Bass. (Bryan Terry – The Oklahoman/USA TODAY Network).

School: Oklahoma City (Okla.) Heritage Hall

Oklahoma insider Bob Przybylo on Andy Bass: “The 6-foot, 205-pound senior quarterback passed for 3,144 yards and 35 touchdowns this past season, leading the Chargers (14-1) to the Class 3A state title game. Bass threw only two interceptions, completed 66.3 percent of his passes and averaged 13.1 yards per attempt.

“He also rushed for 1,480 yards at 10.7 yards per carry, finding the end zone 31 times. Bass helped lead Heritage Hall to a state championship in 2022 to go with the final last month.”
