School: Carrollton (Ga.)
On300 Ranking: No. 30
On3 NIL Valuation: $224K

Scouting Summary: “Highly athletic, jumbo receiver with the upside to grow into a dangerous mismatch at tight end. Arguably the most skilled big pass-catcher in the 2024 cycle heading into the senior season. Checked in at listed at 6-foot-4, 220 pounds with good length for the position prior to his senior year. Starred as a receiver for one of the top high school programs in Georgia as a junior, helping Carrollton to a state title game. A long-striding, bouncy athlete with explosive movements. Has the burst to run past defensive backs as an outside receiver. Shows the ability to high-point passes and make acrobatic grabs in jump ball situations. Has good pacing within his routes.

…Very productive, finishing his junior season with 64 catches for 1,121 yards and 13 touchdowns. Doubles as a big-time above-the-rim athlete in basketball. Has the best dunk reel we’ve seen from a 2024 prospect. Plays high level AAU basketball and is talented enough to play the sport at a high level in college. Has some ambiguity around his long-term position. Could end up as a top player as a receiver or tight end, but may be more unique as a mismatch at tight end at this stage.”

2. Trey’Dez Green — LSU signee

School: Jackson (La.) Zachary
On300 Ranking: No. 32
On3 NIL Valuation: $206K

Scouting Summary: “High flying tight end prospect who plays above the rim on the football field as well as the basketball court. Highly rated basketball player who has serious bounce on the hardwood. 50-50 balls are closer to 70-30 for him with his ability to high point the football. Has rare body control and balance for someone his age with his size. Will have some growing pains as a blocker, but his ability to move and go up and get the football with his size is rare for the position. Arguably the top pass-catching mismatch in the 2024 cycle.”

3. Carter Nelson — Nebraska signee

Carter Nelson commits to Nebraska
Carter Nelson

School: Ainsworth (Neb.)
On300 Ranking: No. 41
On3 NIL Valuation: 167K

Scouting Summary: “Tight end prospect with a unique background and one of the stronger athletic profiles among jumbo athletes in the 2024 cycle. Measured at 6-foot-4, 215 pounds with solid length for the position prior to his senior season. Looks to have added some mass during his junior year. Hails from a remote area of north central Nebraska, where he plays 8-man football. Plays all over the field for his high school program, as is the case with most college prospects who play 8-man. Lines up as a quarterback, receiver, tight end, takes direct snaps and plays on defense. Looks like a literal man among boys playing at that level. Shows top end speed and bowls over defenders in the open field. Looks to have considerable burst. The best athlete on the field by orders of magnitude. Shows the ability to track the football, but pure receiving skills remain a question. Has a sterling multi-sport profile.

…A bouncy basketball player who lives above the rim. Throws down tomahawk dunks in transition. Also shows his overall coordination, movement skills and spatial awareness on the hardwood. Also a standout over multiple events in track and field. Turned in a personal best throw of 52-3.5 feet in the shot put. Posted a 7-foot high jump as a sophomore. Ran in the 11.2 second range in the 100 meters as a sophomore. All are outstanding marks. A tougher evaluation and projection than many other high school prospects. Will see as big a jump in competition level as you can face in moving to the college game.”

4. Luke Reynolds — Penn State signee

School: Westford (Ma.) Cheshire
On300 Ranking: No. 74
On3 NIL Valuation: $181K

Scouting Summary: “Versatile jumbo athlete with the frame and explosive movement skills to project as a top tight end. Measured at a shade over 6-foot-4 and around 220 pounds prior to his senior year. Has average length with 32.25 -inch arm. Touts a muscular build with the frame to continue adding mass. Registers as a top athlete in the combine setting. Posts vertical leaps in the upper 30’s at college camps. Lined up as a quarterback and pass catcher as a junior. Shows off his athleticism as a run threat from under center. Flashed the ability to come down with contested grabs in limited opportunities as a junior. Has the bounce to elevate over defensive backs and the coordination to high point the football. Has fairly polished routes despite not playing the position full-time.

…Impressed working as a pass catcher at the Elite 11 Finals prior to his senior season, showing outstanding conditioning and overall movement skills. Will need to continue adding size and strength on top of technique to become a well-rounded tight end. Athletic upside is readily apparent and makes him one of the top prospects at the position in the 2024 cycle. Older for the cycle, turning 19 years-old in February of his senior year.”

5. Christian Bentancur — Clemson signee

School: Woodstock (Ill.) Marian Central Catholic
On300 Ranking: No. 85
On3 NIL Valuation: $130K

Scouting Summary: “Prolific pass-catcher with translatable skills as a target over the middle of the field. Measured in at around 6-foot-4.5, 235 pounds prior to his senior season. Had a record-setting high school career, finishing with 231 catches for 3,867 yards and 51 touchdowns over four seasons. A natural pass-catcher. Plays both in-line and flexed out for his high school. Uses good technique to get releases off the line, swiping at defenders’ hands. Runs with forward lean, aiding in his change of direction. Separates with shake at the top of his routes. Displays good hand placement in going for catches, properly framing the ball. Shows spatial awareness in finding openings in the defense. Effective at working the middle of the field. Has a solid burst after the catch toi pick up YAC. A solid blocker, but can continue to get stronger. Also saw time on defense as a defensive end. Doubles as a productive basketball player, averaging over 21 points per game as a junior. Doesn’t have ideal length, which could limit his ability as a jump ball threat. Will need to adjust to the considerable uptick in competition, coming from a smaller classification.”

6. Jaden Reddell — Georgia signee

School: Raymore (Mo.) Peculiar
On300 Ranking: No. 90
On3 NIL Valuation: $184K

Scouting Summary: “Gifted pass-catcher with wide receiver skills and athleticism in a tight end’s body. Measured at around 6-foot-4, 230 pounds in the spring prior to his senior season. Has plus length and a big frame with 34-inch arms and 10-inch hands. Highly proficient as a receiving threat. Has some of the best ball skills in the 2024 cycle, regardless of position. Naturally plucks the ball out of the air and effortlessly tracks the ball over his shoulder, making difficult grabs look routine. Uses his strong hands, coordination and understanding of body positioning to consistently come down with contested catches in jump ball situations. Runs very well and has a unique long stride that aids in pulling away once in the open field. Can be a bully after the catch, using a stiff arm to neutralize defenders. Very productive as a junior, catching 49 passes for 1,002 yards and 12 touchdowns in 10 games. Primarily lines up as a wide receiver for his high school team. Will need to develop as a blocker in order to be an every down tight end as he moves up in level of play. Has also played basketball, showing some athleticism on the hardwood.”

7. Amir Jackson — Florida signee

School: Portal (Ga.)
On300 Ranking: No. 94
On3 NIL Valuation: $137K

Scouting Summary: “Jumbo athlete with an extremely high upside as a tight end prospect. Measured in at a shade under 6-foot-5 and around 220 pounds prior to his senior season. Has a lean, muscular frame with room to add considerable mass. Has plus length, with his arms measuring at 34 inches. A fluid athlete with the movement skills of a big receiver. Lines up on the outside in a flexbone offense. Shows a considerable catch radius. Effortlessly climbs the ladder to elevate and come down with extended grabs. Has the look of a big-time jump ball threat. Also flashes athleticism as a ball carrier – scoring multiple touchdowns on carries as a senior. Also plays defense as an outside linebacker – registered 70 tackles as a junior. Doubles as a talented basketball player, averaging 13 points per game as a junior. Plays at a lower level of competition and may need some time to adjust to the uptick in competition and continue to add strength in order to play in-line. Has one of the higher developmental ceilings in what is a strong cycle at tight end.”

8. Ryner Swanson — BYU signee

Ryner Swanson

School: Laguna Beach (Calif.)
On300 Ranking: No. 130
On3 NIL Valuation: $75K

About: Committed to BYU on June 15, choosing the Cougars over the likes of Oregon, Texas, Texas A&M and Utah. Was a late riser and is an outlier in the On300, compared to other recruiting services. Swanson headlines BYU’s 2024 recruiting class as the top-ranked prospect — he is the only four-star recruit signed with the Cougars. Stands 6-foot-4.5, 245 pounds. Is also the No. 8 player in California this cycle.

9. Jordan Washington — Texas signee

School: Houston Langham Creek
On300 Ranking: No. 151
On3 NIL Valuation: $204K

Scouting Summary: “Well-built high school athlete with a good frame for the TE position. Game speed looks about average for the position. Acceleration looks above average. Featured as a flexed and in-line Y as well as an H-back/sniffer. Has exceptional run blocking technique for the level of play and for the position. Squares up the defender and establishes a strong base. Keeps legs moving on contact and drives the defender. Run blocking as lead, split-flow and stalk varieties all look well-coached. As a receiver, gets his stem established easily without wasted motion. Especially effective down the seam and on sail/crossing routes. Film of routes to all levels. Alert to the scramble drill and finds space to settle into vs. zone. Will play for the contested catch and seems calm in traffic. Tracks the ball well and adjusts well to the throw.”

10. KJ Duff — Rutgers signee

School: Riverhead (N.Y.) St. Anthony’s
On300 Ranking: No. 163
On3 NIL Valuation: $68K

Scouting Summary: “Jump ball specialist who touts a catch radius that is one of the largest in the 2024 cycle. Measured in at over 6-foot-5 and around 210 pounds prior to his senior season. Has plus length for the position. Thinly built and will need to fill out considerably. Touts plus ball skills in about every facet. A natural plucker of the football. Standout on the camp and 7-on-7 circuit, where he made some of the best grabs we saw all year. Contorts his body to hang in traffic and come down with amazing high-point grabs. Carries that skill set over to Friday nights. Projects as a threat in the red zone. Easily comes down with fade passes. Looks like a man amongst boys playing against high school competition that is average at best.

…Improved his YAC ability as a senior. Effective working over the middle of the field. Finished his senior season with 55 catches for 929 yards and nine touchdowns. Returned a kick for a touchdown. Has some tightness in his hips that shortens his stride once he has to open up. Will need to add weight to be an every down tight end, but has some of the more notable mismatch ability in the passing game at the position in the 2024 cycle.”
