Sir Mohammed, a 6-foot-6, 200-pound small forward out of Charlotte (NC) Myers Park, ranks as the No. 94 overall prospect in the 2024 class, according to the On3 Consensus.

The On3 Consensus is the average ranking from all four major recruiting media companies (ESPN, Rivals, 247Sports, On3).

Sir is the son of Nazr Mohammed, an 18-year NBA veteran and former Kentucky Wildcat.

At the City of Palms Classic in Florida, Mohammed discussed his game and gave an update on the recruitment process.

Mohammed discusses his game

“I think I’d describe my game as a guy that can really do anything you ask me to do on the court,” Mohammed says. “If you need me to handle the ball, I’ll handle the ball. If you need me to just go out there and set the ball screens, I’ll do it. You need me to shoot it. I’ll just do whatever I need to do to win.”

Mohammed has a few things he’d like to improve.

“I’ve been shooting a little bit streaky, so I guess once I get into the flow of the season, I’ll shoot it better, but that’s one thing I need to focus on. Then just handling the ball up top, like I can do it, but I want to have the ball on a string and lock in on that.”

Schools keeping in contact; visits to Stanford and Penn State

“I’ve been hearing a lot from Stanford, Villanova, Ohio State. A little bit of everywhere. My recruitment is wide open,” he says.

Along with the schools mentioned above, Mohammed also holds offers from Michigan, Penn State, Notre Dame, NC State, Georgetown, Cincinnati, Providence, Xavier, and others.

Several schools have already hosted him on campus. He’s taken official visits to Stanford and Penn State and unofficials to Ohio State, Villanova, Virginia Tech, and NC State.

He broke down his two official visit trips.

Stanford: “It was great. It’s one of those schools that just has a little bit of everything. All the players are super great. The coaching staff’s amazing. I loved it out there. It was great.”

Penn State: “It’s a college town. You go up there and you’re just like, ‘wow’. Those people love their sports. I got to watch the Ohio State game. So that was great. And then the coaching staff’s just amazing. They’re building something crazy up there.”

Future visits?

Mohammed has already visited a handful of programs but says they are a few more he’d like to see.

“Really any school that I’ve already been talking to, I’d love to get up there,” he says. “I’d love to go to Marquette, Michigan, Notre Dame, and a whole bunch of places.”

Mohammed Scouting Summary

“Sir Mohammed has good length with a projectable frame,” On3’s Jamie Shaw writes. “The most interesting part of the 6-foot-6 forwards game is his passing. Mohammed has excellent court vision, with great tough on his on-target and on-time deliveries. While he is an average athlete, which may create questions on who he guards, he is a smart team defender who understands angles. He has a consistent release on his jump shot, but it has a tendency to flatten out and is inconsistent. He can attack closeouts in straight lines and is a good area rebounder.”
