Sebastian Wilkins, a four-star power forward in the 2026 class, has committed to Duke and will reclassify to the 2025 class, he told On3.

The 6-foot-8 prospect of Brewster Academy (NH) chose the Blue Devils of Maryland, but also received offers from Virginia, West Virginia, Providence, Rutgers, and others.

Wilkins, a Massachusetts native, is the No. 29 overall recruit in the 2026 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Rankings. He’s also the No. 4 power forward prospect and the No. 1 player in New Hampshire. The On3 Industry Ranking is a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

His ranking will now be re-evaluated now that he is in the 2025 class.

Wilkins becomes Duke’s fourth incoming traditional freshman, joining Five-Star Plus+ PF Cameron Boozer (No. 3 NATL), four-star SF Nikolas Khamenia (No. 16 NATL), and four-star PG Cayden Boozer (No. 18 NATL). The Blue Devils also welcome in Italian prospect Dame Sarr. More on that here.

Wilkins on his commitment to Duke

Sebastian Wilkins went in-depth on his commitment to Duke with On3.

“The reason I chose Duke was because of how Coach Scheyer was able to tell me and explain to me his vision and how he thinks I would be able to fit in day one. Also, knowing the history of Duke, it is a place where I want to create my own history.

What led to his trust in coach Scheyer and the staff?

“Just how straightforward he was and how and was completely honest with me through everything he was saying.”

In his own words, what type of player is Duke getting in Wilkins?

“I would describe my game as a versatile wing who can do anything you need me to do, but most importantly, I always give my all to win.”

He has a message for Duke fans.

“My message to Duke fans is you’re getting someone who’s going to work hard every day and compete for the goal to win a National Championship.”

Wilkins a standout at the Hoophall Classic

On3’s Jamie Shaw found Wilkins as a standout at the Hoophall Classic earlier this year:

Steady production, that is something that we have come to expect from Sebastian Wilkins. The 6-foot-7 forward moves with a purpose off the ball and he does a good job finding advantageous positions before getting involved in the play. Wilkins is a high-floor forward who plays with motor and strength, but more importantly, he does not attempt anything he cannot do.

Wilkins finished Sunday’s game with 22 points, 8 rebounds, and 3 assists. He was 9-13 from the field and 4-4 from the free throw line.
