Top performers: Friday Night Lights Showcase in Atlanta

Some of the best up-and-coming skill players in the Atlanta area gathered at Douglas County High School on Friday night. A few new names spang into action.

There were also a few highly-ranked young players that flashed.

On3 MVP Travis Terrell Jr CB (2024)

Atlanta (Ga.) Mays junior cornerback Travis Terrell kept coming up with pass breakups. He was beaten initially a few times. Terrell’s recovery ability was the talk of the night at the end of the event.

His catch-up speed saved him multiple times. As the spotlight shined on his reps more, he stepped even further into the light.

He already holds offers from Marshall, Buffalo, Grambling State and Akron.

WR Hilton Alexander II (2023)

Douglasville (Ga.) Douglas County wide receiver Hilton Alexander II has game-breaking speed. He blew by defenders over the top a few times.

He also has the ability to break people at the line with his release. Alexander has recently added a bunch of offers. More could be in the works for the rising senior.

WR DeAndre Buchannon (2023)

Atlanta (Ga.) Carver wide receiver DeAndre Buchannon took as many reps as anyone on Friday night. He was held and made catches. He was covered and still made catches.

Buchannon has the reputation of being a playmaker. It’s starting to translate to college interest. He’s added offers from Florida State and Indiana among others.

ATH Jaden Baugh (2024)

Decatur (Ga.) Columbia athlete Jaden Baugh is considered the No. 191 overall prospect in the On3 Consensus rankings for the class of 2024. He moved effortlessly through drills.

He has a blend of size, speed and the ability to pluck the football.

On Friday night he mostly played in coverage. He guarded smaller players for most of the night and acquitted himself with s a few pass breakups.

WR Briyar Powers (2023)

The speedy wide receiver from Atlanta (Ga.) Pebblebrook Briyar Powers elicited a few ‘ohs and ahs’ from the crowd gathered at Douglas County High School.

Powers beat defenders inside and deep for long touchdowns. His speed was on display as he pulled away at the top of his routes.

Powers plays with a swagger. He sports pink hair and grins at trailing defenders. He was one of the more fun players to watch on Friday night.

QB Air Noland (2024)

Fairburn (Ga.) Langston Hughes quarterback Air Noland threw the ball with pop on Friday night. He threw a few long touchdowns with effortless touch.

He also hit some of the intermediate routes with ease. Noland has already a lot of experience as a two-year starter at Langston Hughes. He holds offers from Arkansas, Louisville, Wake Forest and Indiana among others. Coincidently, he recently visited Florida, UCF and Miami.

Noland has the ability to make plays on the run and with his feet.

QB Judd Anderson (2024)

Rossville (Ga.) Jones County quarterback Judd Anderson towered on Friday night. The 6-foot-6 signal-caller showed the ability to reach any part of the field he desires with his arm strength.

Anderson recently added offers from Pittsburgh and Ole Miss. He will be in Athens visiting Georgia on Saturday.

ATH Mike Matthews (2024)

Lilburn (Ga.) Parkview wide receiver Mike Matthews showcased his ability to play above the rim in drills. He went up and plucked the football a few times. He also has the ability to create separation with his size. Matthews is the No. 92 overall prospect in the On3 Consensus rankings for the class of 2024.

The On300 has Matthews as the No. 65 overall prospect in the class of 2024.
