Cayden Green has been offered by two dozen schools, and he has emerged as one of the top offensive linemen in the 2023 class. After visiting half a dozen schools over the summer, the junior at Lee’s Summit (Missouri) North is ready to name an early group of favorites.

“Missouri, Nebraska, Kentucky, Oklahoma, Georgia, Texas A&M, Notre Dame, Iowa, LSU and Michigan are my top 10 schools,” Green said. “With the season coming, I am ready to focus on winning, and I wanted to get my schools down some.”

This is not a final list.

The 6-foot-5, 310-pound tackle said he is going to add offers, continue to build relationships with coaches and he said he will still evaluate his options. For example, Green added a new offer from Michigan on Wednesday.

He feels good about this early list of schools, though.

“It was a good time for me to narrow things down,” Green said. “I have some great offers. I have gotten to visit a number of schools, and I was ready. These are my top schools as I go into my junior season.”

Strong summer visits

Cayden Green visited Iowa, Georgia, LSU, Missouri, Notre Dame and Oklahoma in June and July. His last visit of the summer was to Baton Rouge, La., last week and all the other stops were made in June.

They all made the cut and each school impressed.

“It was so nice to physically be on a college campus and talk to the coaches in person,” Green said. “Each visit was big for me and they all lived up to the expectations I had.

“I got to see the campus, I was able to feel out the staffs in person and every visit stood out to me. Each school had great facilities and the staffs were great.”

In-state school made strong impression

Cayden Green is keeping an open mind, and he has no order for his top 10 at this time, but he was open about how much Missouri stood out. He made the drive to Columbia not knowing what to expect, and the Tigers really captured his attention.

“Missouri really did surprise me,” Green said. “That visit definitely made them climb up my list. I see Missouri as a program on the rise after seeing how they recruit and meeting the coaching staff.

“It wasn’t one thing about the visit, but just the overall visit that made it stand out. I just saw more than I expected to see and I liked it.”

The next step

Being a junior, this fall and the first half of 2022 will be very important to Cayden Green. That is when schools will look to make their move for the four-star and work to capture his commitment.

He will catch as many games as he can this season, and of course, speak with as many coaches as possible each week. Connections are key for Green.

“The relationships I have with coaches are so important for me,” Green said. “I really look for that connection with my position coach. I will be spending the most time with the offensive line coach, so having that bond is important.

“The overall relationship aspect is so big for me. I care a lot about that. Feeling like family will be important too as I take more visits and spend time with coaches.”

Green has not thought about when he would like to commit yet.
