It’s not called March Madness for nothing. But we’re not talking about the NCAA Tournament; a different sort of chaos occurs each March when the coaching carousel starts spinning. With a number of high-profile programs changing coaches, it has caused a handful of the country’s top basketball prospects in the 2022 class to reconsider their decisions. Florida, Missouri, LSU and Xavier are among the programs to change directions and have signees ask of their National Letters on Intent.

Three weeks into the month of March, 13 of the country’s top 115 prospects are still available. And there could be even more to come as the carousel spins over the next few weeks.

SF Julian Phillips
School: Blythewood (S.C.) Link Year Prep
Consensus Ranking: No. 16
NIL Valuation: $11.4K

The Skinny: Phillips chose LSU over finalists USC, Florida State and Tennessee. It wouldn’t be a surprise to see those schools involved again, but the five-star will certainly receive interest from around the country as the top available player in 2022.

C Yohan Traore
School: Napa (Calif.) Dream City Christian
Consensus Ranking: No. 17
NIL Valuation: N/A

The Skinny: The 6-foot-10 power forward out of Dream City (Ariz.) Christian chose the Tigers in January over Texas Tech, Michigan, Memphis, Auburn and Kansas. Prior to choosing LSU in January, Traore’s recruitment was quiet for months. The big man made official visits to Texas Tech, Michigan, Memphis, and Kansas between the months of September and October. Traore struggled to decide which school would host him last for his fifth and final official visit. At first, UCLA and Texas were the frontrunners, before shifting to a pair of Tigers in the SEC – Auburn and LSU.

CG Anthony Black
School: Coppell (Tex.) Duncanville
Consensus Ranking: No. 19
On3 NIL Valuation: $26K

The Skinny: The 6-foot-6 combo guard out of Dallas Duncanville is set to decide between Gonzaga, Arkansas, Oklahoma State, TCU, and the G-League at the McDonald’s All-American game next Monday. As it stands now, the Razorbacks are expected to land Black and add to their historic recruiting class, according to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine.

PF Malik Reneau
School: Hialeah (Fla.) Montverde Academy
Consensus Ranking: No. 29
On3 NIL Valuation: $11.6K

The Skinny: The 6-foot-8 power forward out of Montverde (Fla.) Academy committed to the Gators in September before signing during the early period in November. Prior to choosing Florida, Reneau considered a final group of Miami, Memphis, and Florida State. He also considered Arkansas, Indiana, and Seton Hall.

CG Skyy Clark
School: Nashville (Tenn.) Montverde Academy
Consensus Ranking: No. 32
On3 NIL Valuation: $204K

The Skinny: Clark committed to Kentucky all the way back in October 2020, but chose to ask out of his NLI earlier this month. UCLA, North Carolina, Memphis were the other finalists the first time around, and according to On3’s Joe Tipton, the Tar Heels were once considered the favorite. UNC already has four-star point guard Seth Trimble signed, though. More than a dozen schools, including Illinois, Tennessee, Arizona State, and Syracuse, reached out to Clark after he requested his release.

SF Tyrell Ward
School: Hyattsville (Md.) DeMatha
Consensus Ranking: No. 35
On3 NIL Valuation: $8.1K

The Skinny: Ward was locked in with Xavier until the firing of head coach Travis Steele. Prior to inking with the Musketeers, he considered LSU, Georgia, Virginia Tech, Indiana, Miami, Xavier, Maryland, and Georgetown. Of note, his former high school coach at DeMatha Catholic, Mike Jones, is now the associate head coach at Virginia Tech. It also wouldn’t be a surprise to see new coach Sean Miller, one of the country’s elite recruiters when he was at Arizona, try to bring Ward back in the fold.

PF Eric Dailey
School: Bradenton (Fla.) IMG Academy
Consensus Ranking: No. 39
On3 NIL Valuation: $22K

The Skinny: Dailey’s recruitment has largely been a mystery, with offers from Florida State, Michigan, Texas A&M, Georgia, Florida, USC but no official visits to date. He is also considering a number of pro options both in the United States and overseas.

CG Judah Mintz
School: Washington (D.C.) Oak Hill Academy
Consensus Ranking: No. 50
On3 NIL Valuation: $15.2K

The Skinny: Mintz backed off his commitment to Pittsburgh on the first day recruits could sign their NLIs this fall. He chose the Panthers last June over Penn State and Georgetown, as well a handful of other offers. He took official visits to his final four schools, DePaul, Wake Forest, NC State, and Syracuse, throughout February and March. The Blue Demons currently hold the lead for his commitment, according to the On3 RPM.

SF Aidan Shaw
School: Stilwell (Kan.) Blue Valley
Consensus Ranking: No. 53
On3 NIL Valuation: $10.9K

The Skinny: Shaw was very much locked in with Missouri — including being introduced at halftime on the floor of a Tigers game this season — but reopened his recruitment when Cuonzo Martin was fired. New coach Dennis Gates is expected to pursue him again, and Shaw has strong family ties to Columbia. Oklahoma State, Iowa, and Maryland were among his previous finalists.

C Adrame Diongue
School: Scottsdale (Ariz.) Compass Prep
Consensus Ranking: No. 59
On3 NIL Valuation: $15.3K

The Skinny: Diongue recently named a top five of Kentucky, UNLV, Kansas, Texas Tech, and Washington State. He was high school teammates with current Wildcats guard TyTy Washington, but Diongue does not currently hold an offer from the ‘Cats. He still has all five official visits available, so it could be some time before he makes a final decision.

SG Riley Kugel
School: Orlando (Fla.) Dr. Phillips
Consensus Ranking: No. 67
On3 NIL Valuation: N/A

The Skinny: Prior to choosing the Bulldogs, the 6-foot-5 shooting guard out of Orlando Dr. Phillips considered a final group of Auburn, Houston, Miami, Florida Gulf Coast, and the Overtime Elite League. Expect Kugel to once again have his fair share of high-major options this go-around.

C Keba Keita
School: Mount Pleasant (Utah) Wasatch Academy
Consensus Ranking: No. 106
On3 NIL Valuation: $5.9K

The Skinny: The Utah-based big man only reports a pair of high-major offers from Utah and Washington. UNLV is another school in the mix, but he is another prospect whose recruitment has flown very far under the radar.

SF Devin Ree
School: Terry (Miss.) Oak Hill Academy
Consensus Ranking: No. 109
On3 NIL Valuation: $14K

The Skinny: Ree was another of LSU’s signees that opted to reopen his recruitment after Will Wade’s recent firing. The Tigers just hired Matt McMahon from Murray State, and he could very well try to bring Ree back into the picture. He picked the Tigers over a laundry list of high-major schools that included Texas, Auburn, Ole Miss and Mississippi State.

SF Bobi Klintman
School: Wichita (Kan.) Sunrise Academy
Consensus Ranking: No. 111
On3 NIL Valuation: $12.8K

The Skinny: Klintman committed to Maryland in October only to decommit after Mark Turgeon stepped down. He has already taken official visits to Maryland, Loyola-Chicago, and Rutgers, and recently told On3’s Jamie Shaw that Arizona State, Central Florida, and VCU are programs he is hearing from regularly.

C Fredrick King
School: NBA Academy Latin America
Consensus Ranking: No. 96
On3 NIL Valuation: N/A

The Skinny: The 6-foot-10, 220-pound King committed to the Cardinals in November over offers from Creighton, Washington State, Georgetown and Miami, among others. However, with head coach Chris Mack departing and new coach Kenny Payne taking over, King has reopened his recruitment.
