Tyran Stokes is the No. 1 ranked player in the 2026 On3 150. The 6-foot-7 forward won a gold medal this summer with the USA Basketball U16 team. Then he helped lead his Vegas Elite 17U team to Nike’s Peach Jam Championship game, playing up two grade levels.

“I’m a person who can attack the rim and play defense,” Stokes told On3. “I can overall see the court, and I’m continuing to work on being a leader and a communicator on this team. I can see this season I’m getting to the basket more easily this season and my shot has improved. Really, I don’t just focus on one player when I watch basketball, but I’ll definitely watch guys like LeBron, Anthony Edwards, KD, and Jayson Tatum. They’re aggressive and leaders of their team who can take over whenever they need to.”

On3 caught up with Five-Star Plus+ Tyran Stokes after a recent live viewing to get an update on his recruitment.

“I haven’t been on any unofficials really yet,” Stokes said. “Kentucky, Kansas, UCLA, Louisville, Texas, Alabama, Texas Tech, LSU, Xavier, and some others have all offered.”

Stokes Talks Kentucky and Kansas

KENTUCKY: “I mean, it’s Kentucky, you know. It’s close to home. It’s exciting to see what they’re doing this year and see some of my friends win. Rob (Dillingham) and AB (Aaron Bradshaw) are over there doing their thing. I just want to see them win.”

KANSAS: “They have a great system at my position over there and have produced a lot of wings for the next level. Watching them play, I could do whatever Coach (Bill Self) would have me do.”

At the end of the day

“I’m really focused right now on improving my game and helping my team win,” Stokes said. “So I have not really put too much thought into my recruiting and visits yet. After the season ends I’ll talk with my mom and see what schools we want to go see and learn more about.

“When I’m looking at schools, I want to go somewhere I can live my life and have fun. I want to play for a coach who loves me and coaches who want to get the best out of me and see me win, and get to the next level.”
