Uncommitted 5-stars in the 2026 class: More decisions looming for nation's top recruits

Commitment season is in overdrive as the calendar turns to July this coming week. Top prospects in the 2026 cycle are announcing their college decisions left and right.
June alone has seen six five-stars come off the board. Gainesville (Ga.) five-star linebacker Xavier Griffin committed to Alabama on Sunday, giving the Crimson Tide its second five-star pledge of the month. Texas A&M, BYU, Oregon and Texas have also added five-stars to their respective classes this month.
With Griffin off the board, 20 of the 32 five-star prospects in the 2026 cycle are now committed. Of the 12 uncommitted five-stars, many have July decision dates locked in. Dominoes continue to fall as programs beef up their pledge lists this summer.
Below are the remaining five-stars that remain uncommitted, as of June 29:
OT Immanuel Iheanacho
School: Georgetown Prep (Md.)
On3 Industry Ranking: No. 4 NATL. (No. 2 OT)
Top Schools: Auburn, LSU, Oregon, Penn State
The highest-ranked uncommitted prospect left on the board, Iheanacho has now logged official visits to each of his top four schools. He rounded June out with an OV to Oregon — a trip he labeled as “saving the best for last.” The Ducks are now trending heavily, according to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine. Four picks have been logged in favor of Dan Lanning and Co. landing the 6-foot-7, 380-pounder.
“I have a commitment date set for Aug. 5, but I am thinking about moving that up,” Iheanacho said on June 22. “Oregon is on top. LSU still competes with them, but I like Oregon a lot.”
OT Felix Ojo
School: Lake Ridge (Texas)
On3 Industry Ranking: No. 6 NATL. (No. 3 OT)
Top Schools: Ohio State, Texas, Florida, Michigan
While Ojo has not officially released a list of finalists or a commitment date, contenders have emerged in a recruitment that is nearing the finish line. Ojo told Chad Simmons earlier this week that a commitment is “coming soon.” Texas and Ohio State have been labeled the current frontrunners, with Florida and Michigan right behind. Ojo has taken numerous official visits, with the likes of Colorado, Texas Tech and Ole Miss also previously in the mix. The Longhorns still have the edge in the On3 RPM.
“With Texas and Ohio State, I like those schools a lot,” Ojo said. “They have great coaches, great programs and I feel I can be developed at both schools … “I still don’t know where I am going, but I have all the cards and my decision will be made soon.”
ATH Lamar Brown
School: University Lab (La.)
On3 Industry Ranking: No. 7 NATL. (No. 1 ATH)
Top Schools: LSU, Texas A&M, Miami, Texas
Lamar Brown is closing in on a July 10 commitment. Like Iheanacho, he’s logged official visits to his top four schools and is now in decision mode. The hometown LSU Tigers have been trending in the On3 RPM for a long time, but Texas A&M has previously been named Brown’s leader and the Aggies are in the thick of things down the stretch. Brown, who’s eying the defensive line at the next level, labeled his recruitment a “dogfight” when speaking with Chad Simmons on June 22.
“I am going back home, talking to my family about every visit I went to this June and just take every step from there,” Brown said. “LSU, Miami, Texas and Texas A&M is playing their part in my recruitment.”
LB Tyler Atkinson
School: Grayson (Ga.)
On3 Industry Ranking: No. 8 NATL. (No. 1 LB)
Top Schools: Clemson, Georgia, Oregon, Texas
When speaking with Steve Wiltfong at the OT7 Playoffs earlier this week, Atkinson said that he’s planning to announce his commitment at some point in July. Atkinson has kept a high-profile recruitment, but of his final four schools, there remains no clear frontrunner down the stretch. Georgia has had the in-state juice, while the other three programs have found momentum at different points this year. Atkinson is still working through his process as he nears a decision.
“All four schools, all of my OVs I’ve been to, the relationships I built with them, it gave me a lot to think about when picking a school,” Atkinson explained. “I’m trying to figure out which one is the best move and which one I’ll be there for the next three to four years.”
RB Savion Hiter
School: Louisa County (Va.)
On3 Industry Ranking: No. 9 NATL. (No. 1 RB)
Top Schools: Michigan, Tennessee, Ohio State, Georgia
Hiter has also trimmed his list of top schools down to four and is coming off a jam-packed June that included official visits to each finalist. Hiter has not pinned down a decision date just yet, but the current buzz has pegged the Wolverines and Volunteers as the two programs to watch right now. Pete Nakos reported earlier this month that Hiter is “expected to be the highest-paid running back in the cycle.” Hiter himself has kept his cards close to the chest this summer.
“I still think it’s Michigan and Tennessee when all said and done,” Steve Wiltfong said this month during On3’s Wiltfong Whiparound show. “Those are the programs I’m watching the most right now. I think they’re the programs that will take that recruitment up another level from an NIL standpoint if they have to in order to land one of the most coveted players on their board, respectively.”
WR Cederian Morgan
School: Benjamin Russell (Ala.)
On3 Industry Ranking: No. 15 NATL. (No. 2 WR)
Top Schools: Alabama, Auburn, Florida, Georgia, Colorado
Cederian Morgan is now the next five-star scheduled to come off the board. The elite pass-catcher has locked in a July 2 commitment date, just three days away. Alabama is heavily trending in the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine following four picks logged in favor of the Crimson Tide across the previous couple of months. The top-ranked prospect in Alabama was in Tuscaloosa again last weekend for his official visit.

“I continue to love where the Crimson Tide stand for the On3 Industry’s No. 2 receiver Cederian Morgan,” Steve Wiltfong wrote on June 22. “I think Alabama continues to set the pace in that recruitment.”
S Bralan Womack
School: Hartfield Academy (Miss.)
On3 Industry Ranking: No. 18 NATL. (No. 1 S)
Top Schools: Florida, Texas A&M, Auburn, Ohio State
The top-ranked prospect in Mississippi this cycle has seen top contenders emerge after logging official visits to Florida, A&M, Auburn and Ohio State. Each trip has concluded with the elite safety giving the coaching staffs high remarks. The four powerhouse programs are battling this summer. Womack was previously eyeing an August decision, but it remains to be seen when he’ll come of the board.
S Jireh Edwards
School: St. Frances Academy (Md.)
On3 Industry Ranking: No. 19 NATL. (No. 2 S)
Top Schools: Alabama, Auburn, Georgia
Florida, Texas A&M and Oregon were previously contenders for Edwards, too, but he’s narrowed things down to a final three and is honed in on his July 5 commitment date. Once again, Alabama looks like the program to beat down the stretch. Three picks have now been logged in favor of the Crimson Tide landing the defensive back. Auburn has built a pipeline with St. Frances Academy, while Georgia has kept its foot on the gas with Edwards this summer. Neither will give up in the lead-up to his decision, but arrows are currently pointing toward Tuscaloosa.
EDGE Anthony Jones
School: St. Paul’s Episcopal (Ala.)
On3 Industry Ranking: No. 20 NATL. (No. 3 EDGE)
Top Schools: Auburn, Miami, Texas A&M, Oregon, Alabama
Anthony Jones has gotten the full official visit experience, taking tours of some of the top programs in college football. For the most part, Jones’ recruitment has centered around the in-state Tigers and Crimson Tide. He’s felt the love from the Hurricanes, Aggies and Ducks, too, however. No predictions have been logged in the On3 RPM just yet, though Jones told Chad Simmons this month that an August commitment is ideal.
“Alabama is definitely a top school for me,” Jones said. “My decision is coming soon. It will be about relationships, development on and off the field, the degree and life after football.”
IOL Darius Gray
School: St. Christopher’s School (Va.)
On3 Industry Ranking: No. 22 NATL. (No. 1 IOL)
Top Schools: South Carolina, LSU, Ohio State, Tennessee, Clemson, Georgia
Darius Gray has not gotten shortchanged during his recruiting process. No high-profile prospect has taken more official visits than the 6-foot-2.5, 285-pounder. LSU currently has the edge in the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine, while South Carolina has long been heralded as a top contender for the five-star, too. Ohio State has been in the mix for a while, as have Clemson and others. There’s still some whittling to be done in Gray’s recruitment heading into July.
TE Kaiden Prothro
School: Bowdon (Ga.)
On3 Industry Ranking: No. 29 NATL. (No. 2 TE)
Top Schools: Georgia, Florida, Texas
Prothro had Alabama and Auburn in a top five earlier this year, but he’s now trimmed his list to three ahead of a July 12 commitment date. Of his three finalists, Georgia is in the driver’s seat, per the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine. Four insiders have logged picks in favor of the Bulldogs keeping Prothro home. His first official visit was in Athens at the beginning of June.
WR Calvin Russell
School: Northwestern (Fla.)
On3 Industry Ranking: No. 32 NATL. (No. 4 WR)
Top Schools: Miami, Michigan, Florida State, Syracuse, Florida, LSU, Oregon, UNC
Russell has also locked in plans for a commitment on July 5. He still has eight teams in contention with a decision now less than a week away. The five-star pass-catcher has taken his official visits, and earlier this week at OT7, he told Steve Wiltfong that he “has an idea, but it’s not really set in stone,” regarding his commitment. Wiltfong then provided an update on who’s in the mix for Russell ahead of his decision.
