The Heisman Trophy has been hotly contested this season — no singular player separating from the pack. Through nine weeks of college football, the updated Heisman odds reflect that sentiment.

According to Vegas Insider, three quarterbacks still lead the way. Alabama’s Bryce Young and Ole Miss’ Matt Corral have been contenders all season long. Afterwards, Ohio State’s C.J. Stroud continues to climb the rankings.

Many believe there’s one player to have a true Heisman moment so far, and it happened last weekend. When Michigan State running back Kenneth Walker III scored five touchdowns against Michigan, he proved he should be going to New York.

Additionally, certain players saw their odds take a blow — like Pittsburgh’s quarterback Kenny Pickett for example. While Pickett wasn’t the reason the Panthers lost, his team now with two losses doesn’t bode well for him.

The Heisman odds will keep changing over the rest of the season. Still, let’s check out who Vegas Insider is giving the best shot at taking the podium after Week 9.

Updated Heisman Odds:

Bryce Young, Alabama (+190)

Matt Corral, Ole Miss (+275)

C.J. Stroud, Ohio State (+450)

Kenneth Walker III, Michigan State (+500)

Caleb Williams, Oklahoma (+850)

Kenny Pickett, Pittsburgh (+1100)

TreVeyon Henderson, Ohio State (+3000)

Desmond Ridder, Cincinnati (+3500)

Bijan Robinson, Texas (+6600)

Jordan Davis, Georgia (+8000)

Mel Tucker on Kenneth Walker III: ‘He’s a Heisman guy.’

Should Kenneth Walker III be better than the player with the fourth best odds for the Heisman Trophy? Many believe so, including his head coach.

After Walker III’s Heisman performance against Michigan, Tucker stated his belief that the running back could win the trophy.

“He’s a special player, he’s a team player, and we all know he’s a Heisman type guy,” Tucker said after the win. “And credit to our O-line, our receivers blocking downfield, but we’ve got to give the guy credit where credit is due. He’s a Heisman guy.”

However, Tucker wasn’t the only one to begin Walker III’s Heisman campaign. FOX’s Big Noon Saturday was on hand for the game, and Brady Quinn was convinced.

“I’ll tell you what, there’s NOTHING like coming back for a big win in East Lansing. Congrats to MSU_Football! What a game! Kenneth_Walker9 needs to be the front runner for the HeismanTroph,” tweeted Quinn.

Evidently, Kenneth Walker III may be the best value betting wise. He doesn’t have to have five touchdowns each week, but his odds will continue to shoot up if the Spartans continue to put together victories.
