It’s win or go home Thursday at the College World Series. One of the championship series tickets has been punched, and one more will be up for grabs Thursday night.

It’ll be Round 2 of LSU vs. Wake Forest Thursday night at Charles Schwab Field in Omaha. The winner advances to the best-of-three championship series against Florida, and the loser will head home.

No. 5-seeded LSU forced the if-necessary, elimination game Wednesday by defeating No. 1 seed Wake Forest 5-2. The Demon Deacons had the advantage early thanks to a two-run single in the first inning to go up 2-0. Then, the Tigers’ bats woke up, culminating with a three-run home run from Cade Beloso to put LSU in front 5-2.

That held on to be the final score as Wake Forest suffered its first loss of the CWS. As part of the double-elimination format, the Demon Deacons and Tigers will square off again Thursday night in a win-or-go home matchup.

Whichever team gets the victory gets a date with Florida, which pulled off a thrilling victory over TCU in Wednesday’s opener. The Gators had a 2-1 lead over the Horned Frogs heading into the bottom of the eighth when Anthony Silva hit an RBI double to tie things up a 2-2. Florida didn’t flinch, though, and got an RBI single from Cade Kurland to get the lead back, 3-2.

TCU made things interesting, though, in the bottom of the ninth as Brayden Taylor hit one to the centerfield warning track. But Michael Robertson was there to make the catch as he ran into the wall, sealing the Florida victory and sending the Gators to the championship series. Now, they await their opponent.

Here’s the updated bracket so far and TV information for the elimination game between LSU and Wake Forest.
