The Big Ten has officially announced its new media rights deal, which will include distribution on Fox, NBC, and CBS. With that, comes a lot of excitement for fans about how they can enjoy games going forward.

CBS is going to play a big part of that, as they’re replacing their SEC game of the week with the Big Ten. To celebrate, CBS released a new promotion for the media deal on Twitter.

Watch CBS’ new promotion for Big Ten football, here:

The video, which is more than a minute long, includes the iconic CBS college football music that has been synonymous with the SEC. It’s clear that the network will keep using it for Big Ten games. The video itself shows clips of games and fans from around the conference, as well as some of the unique trophy games held in the conference.

The promotion ends with a cut to a screen, which reads, “Think B1G Coming in 2023.”

The new Big Ten media rights deal

The new Big Ten media deal is reportedly worth better than $7 billion. Meanwhile, Brett McMurphy of Action Network reports that “contract escalators” could ultimately make the deal with as much as $10 billion. So, there is plenty of incentive for the conference to continue expansion.

Big Ten Conference football will dominate Saturdays, beginning in the fall of 2023 on the largest broadcast platforms from morning to night, with FOX at Noon ET, CBS at 3:30 p.m. ET and NBC in Prime Time. With the addition of the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) and the University of Southern California (USC) in August 2024, the conference, its student-athletes and member institutions will reach the broadest audience in the country, coast-to-coast, including the top three media markets in the country in New York, Los Angeles and Chicago.

“These landmark media rights agreements are the most comprehensive in all of college sports and further strengthen the tradition of the Big Ten Conference,” the conference announced.

The conference will air games on Fox, CBS, NBC, and the Big Ten Network. That includes both football and basketball games on CBS. Meanwhile, NBC is going to put eight football games on their streaming service, Peacock, annually.
