WATCH: Texas A&M four-star OL commit Ashton Funk posts junior film
Rising 2024 Texas A&M offensive line commit Ashton Funk‘s junior season came to an end on Thursday as his Katy (Tex.) Tompkins team fell 35-33 in double overtime to Fort Bend (Tex.) Ridge Point.
Following the loss, the four-star put together his junior highlights and posted it to Hudl. Primarily playing left tackle for the Falcons, Funk’s athleticism and refined technique overwhelmed opponents all season long. He helped Tompkins rush for over 3,100 yards on the season and score over 50 total offensive touchdowns in just eleven games.

The rising prospect only recently committed to Texas A&M earlier this month, making the short trip from Katy to College Station on Sunday Nov. 6 to commit to the staff in person.
Funk became the second commit in the 2024 class, joining Longview (Tex.) Pine Tree four-star defensive lineman Dealyn Evans in the class.
Texas A&M offered the massive 6-foot-6, 285 pound junior, who looks to be one of the top offensive linemen in the state of Texas in the cycle, while he was in town for the Maroon & White Game back in April. For Funk, the offer from the Aggies was a “dream.”
“It was really an honor,” he said after receiving the offer. “It’s been a dream of mine for a long time and to get it was pretty humbling and I’m excited to keep working.”
Funk visited A&M twice back in September and has kept a close eye on the program all season. The Aggies really made an impression on him when he visited to see the team defeat Miami 17-9.
“Oh it was amazing,” he said. “Atmosphere was crazy. Seeing the o-line coming together, it was amazing. Coach Addazio impresses me every time. Really like that place.”
The four-star is expected to return to College Station later this month for the Aggies’ season finale against LSU.
Scouting Report for Ashton Funk
Aggie Scoop was in attendance to see Funk back in September against Katy (Tex.) Seven Lakes. The junior stands 6-foot-6 and over 285 pounds. He carries the weight well and his frame looks capable of carrying well over 300 pounds at the next level. He’s a versatile offensive line prospect, with the ability to play guard or tackle at the next level. He plays with great technique, moves well laterally for his size, shows good bend and though he lacks the wingspan you’d like to see at tackle, he moves well enough to not get beat by faster defenders coming off the edge.
“Offensive line prospect who possesses a tremendous build with excellent weight distribution. Lacks ideal length in arms for tackle but has the foot speed and knee bend to play outside. Easy puller, looks comfortable working in open space. Solid body control when climbing to the second level and in pass protection. Plays with great leverage for his height. Lacks pop and raw power in his punch. High floor player due to his size and natural athleticism. Could see him kick inside if necessary at the next level as a taller guard. Will naturally add mass and strength as he physically develops. Funk ranks as the No. 284 prospect and the No. 19 interior offensive lineman in the country per the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. The junior has an On3 NIL Valuation of $8.5K. The On3 NIL Valuation is an index that looks to set the standard market value for both high school and college-level athletes. The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
