Will Riley is the No. 37 player in the 2025 On3 Industry Ranking. The 6-foot-7 forward from the Phelps School is averaging 18.7 points on 56.4 percent shooting this spring as he is splitting time between the UPlay 16u and 17u teams on Nike’s EYBL Circuit.

“I play with a lot of versatility,” Riley told On3. “I can shoot, drive, handle the ball, and facilitate. I’ve really improved my finishing, my jump shot, and my handle. I try and watch a lot of Shai Gilgeous-Alexander. I watch the way he plays at his own pace and moves so fluidly. I’ve always been a big LeBron James fan.”

On3 caught up with frou-star Will Riley recently to talk about his recruitment.

Riley talks recruitment

“I hold offers from Oregon, Arkansas, Illinois, Kansas State, and some others,” Riley said. “I haven’t taken any visits or anything yet.”

Oregon: “They’re a great program with a lot of stars. Me and the coaches have connected a good amount, and all the conversations we have had have gone well. They’ve just said they like my versatility and my feel for the game.”

Illinois: “My conversations with Illinois are good. The coach likes my style of play and that I fit with what they’re trying to do. I know Illinois is a very well put together program with a lot of great people surrounding it.”

Kansas State: “I did get to watch Kansas State play, and they were unbelievable, especially their point guard. Markquis Nowell was insane to watch just the way he read the floor and could find the open man and still create for himself was unbelievable.”

Arkansas: “They play at a fast pace, and I really enjoy that. They like my size and versatility and how I can play at a fast pace.”

In Riley’s words

“My uncle, Marcus Riley, went to West Virginia for track and field. I grew up loving college basketball almost more than the NBA. I watched a lot of UCLA, Villanova, UNC, Duke, Kentucky, and much more.

“I’m looking for a good environment to see if I fit the role they want me to play on the team. I’ll look at the team and who I am being surrounded by. I don’t feel like there is a specific style that fits me best or a specific position that fits me best. At the end of the day, I’m a basketball player and make plays. I don’t just want to be stuck doing the same thing.”
